I'm currently rolling my bright green Krogan Vanguard called Hulk.

I tried to be creative at first, but then it got really old. I had a type of formula for the different races:

Asari - Named after cities, like Memphis, Paris, Cairo
Humans - Names like Wrath, Pain, Deceit
Turians - Roman names, eg. Maximus, Praetorian
Geth - 01100, 110011, etc
Krogans - Conan, Grom, Krull, etc
Salarians - Greek names like Heron, Zeus, or Achilles
and I'd usually just bs the Quarian and Batarian names

I called my GE "HD-Toaster" (HD as in 'hardware designation') -seemed apt with a flame turret
My bat soldier was called Daevon before I promoted him, and
my turian sentinel was called Sen.

Sounds apropriate for Geth, though.

My main character (Quarian Infiltrator) actually has a name, Ka'Shya vas Elu.
I thought it sounds pretty cool, then found out that no one would ever see it, so all the other did not get as much brainwork.

My geth infiltrator is called "Toasty"!

It's because I named the engineer "Kirby", after Kirby from Brave Little Toaster, and then I couldn't think of any other good names to reference that film. ("Lamp"? "Radio"? ""Blanket?" What kind of names are those??)

And since simply "toaster" is an offensive term for machines, I decided that "Toasty" sounded just cutesy enough for him.

If they ever add a flamethrower to the game, however, its meaning will change drastically.

You now have the list to nearly all of my characters. My 2 Geth, Quarian Engie, Asari AA and VG, and HFI have names not from that.

I chose Valter and Reiv as my Turian names. Honestly I try to pick names that fit the class/race

Nope, my charries all get semi-unique names. Humans get surnames as names, everyone else gets semi-random names or references. So my Krogans become Khargath, Gruthar and so on, for example. I guess I have to start a list now that I've promoted several of them...

Infiltrators are usually "Fisher" (if you know who Sam Fisher is).
Turians are Turry.
Krogans are Kroggy.
Geth are Geth.
etc

As you can see, I don't get too creative.

I just name them whatever pops into my head at the time. I got a Krogan solider named ham. And I'm currently playing a turian solider named binkie.

I take great care with coming up with my character names. And by great care, I mean stealing the callsigns from the Call of Duty/Battlefield games I played last.

Oh, and I never create a character without first writing a detailed service record.

My Geth engineer is Mob ....I figure it is the Geth version of Bob.  All my other engineers are named sparks or sparky.
I named my Krogan soldier Mr. Wigglebutt....I couldn't help myself after seeing them run.
I name characters that I am bad at playing curse words. All my inflitrators have very naughty names. And for a while all my Krogans and Turians were named things like SOB, Stupid &*%# and so on until I got the hang of playing something that can't roll or hop.
