So... Taboo-XX you seem to be in the loop on this. How close is this?

I can only help you with with information given from PR statements and work knowledge.

Once production begins I can't help you. I can only speculate.

I would however, believe that they would have an ending were Shepard reunites with everyone, simply because it is the most marketable and is a large safety net.

Still waiting for Adam Baldwin to do some dialog. They never even contacted him. For shame, Casey. For shame.

He was given the distinct honor of having his death announced via email.

It's called suspension of disbelief.

Pushed to the limits.

I don't get it though... from everything I've seen and read, it really seems like BW considers Synthesis to be the 'best' ending.  So, why does a supposedly sub-par ending have Shepard survive?

If it was intended as a 'Fable II' style choice (save your dog, but kill lots of people), they didn't spend enough time afterwards to drive that point home.

I think Bioware already cemented the Shepard surving being the best ending regardless of their intentions when they allowed it to happen in the first place. It has the highest EMS score requirement.

Besides, they are more than aware that most people, at least on the BSN like Destroy. Gamble was assaulted verbally on Twitter when he gave his version of the best choice.

Needless to say.

I don't think any of that matters.  The fact is that BW considered Synthesis the best ending, yet still had the Breath ending.  This was all before the fans exploded.  So, it still doesn't make sense to me.  It's almost like two people were fighting over the ending.

I tried to tell people that and Priestly locked the thread down.

The problem is the higher ups, not people like Weekes.

Late to the party, but glad to see that Lance Henrikson is going to be involved in the EC. I'm not too cynical to say Bioware are starting to win me around with news like this.

By the way Bioware. My offer still stands.

If Miss Strahovski and Miss Black say they are coming back.

I'll do it.

The music I mean.

Not them.

God.

You misunderstand the seriousness of the situation.

Bioware knows what the problem is.

That's what it means.

They really never said that. Gamble stated a personal opinion once, true, yet the destroy ending lets the hero take a breath of life with a high-enough score. EMS ultimately dictates the complexity of the Crucible in terms of that scene, not which ending is preferable and not.

We don't have concrete answers yet, only personal viewpoints and interpretations.

Pretty much. Gamble did say that he didn't think that the writing was an attempt to make one better than the other. I interpreted that incorrectly.

It still worries me though.

May be, I'll just wait and see for EC ... ;)
Or perhaps I expressed myself wrongly, and should have said: "does not reassure me on what the EC is going to contain ..." ...:P or wrong again

I'll state again.

Bioware knows what the problem is.

I agree.

They have to.  It's been repeated incessantly for months.  The real question is, what is the extended cut going to fix?  Their press release on it already points out that it isn't going to address the majority of people's concerns.

The press release doesn't say much of anything in detail. That's what a PR statement is.

excellent news. when henrikson says that bioware said "there was a problem with the ending", thats comes across to me as bioware knows the ending sucks. have they been planning this all along? things are becoming very slightly more clear, but still not clear enough to make it out.

Why is your first thought that Bioware planned the ending because they know it sucks, instead of knowing it sucks because EVERYONE told them?

Heh. I'm reminded of how the author of the Half Life 2 mod: "The Stanley Parable" (http://www.moddb.com...stanley-parable - it's a thought-provoker about gameplay narrative) wrote commented that he intentionally made the "good???" ending, where you obey the mod's narrator thoughout, feel kind of empty and unsatisfying. :7

said.

I very nearly lol'd.

He also says in the video, "If the player loses, he gets killed -- it's abrupt."  (picking control/synthesis is losing?)

And, "It was just an oversight."

I'm not saying these are anything more than his own perceptions, they're just interesting.

Whether or not Mr. Henriksen knows something we don't, he's right. We did lose in the end. We lose because the Reapers win. We either join them (Synthesis) or prove them morally right (Destroy or Control). Either way Shepard accepts the notion that synthetics and organics cannot coexist without being one existence.

That of course ignores the fact that regardless of the choice we are committing a horrific crime. Destroy = Mass Genocide, Control = Enslavement, Synthesis = Rape of every sentient being in the galaxy (and it still scares the crap out of me that BW thinks Synthesis is the best ending).

We call them bots where I come from.

I can tell you what that is in a PM if you want.

Is that towards anyone who isn't against bioware right now, or just the really diehard ones?

If it's for everyone, than I must ask why you must assume my feelings are artificial and not genuine? I still like bioware, I still trust them. And I though the endings were okay with a slight leaning to the enjoyable.

So I guess I'm a bot than, or a drone, or an apologist, or whatever other term the other fans come up with.

That derailed the post a little, to help realign it to the rails again, here's a few other roles he's played in shows that I like.

Avengers: earths mightiest heroes: the grim reaper
The legend of korra: Amon's lieutenant
Soon to be in: Tron uprising: General Tesler.

Awesome.

Hopefully there will be a funeral service for those Shepards that died, and it would be awesome if Lance Henriksen gave the speech.

Nah...don't need that...

this would be much better:

Hackett: "Shepard? Shepard, can you hear me? We just realized you made it up to the citadel...but whatever you did to the crucible, it didn't work! But the arms are still open, I am sending a team in now, we might be able to fix it. If you hear this, hold on...*explosion* ...help is....*interferences*...we're com....*interference* ... still hope! Hackett out!"

You? From what I've seen? No.

The people who think they have no right to question Bioware's art are bots.

Just because someone works long and hard on something doesn't make it immune to criticism.

Someone actually said that yesterday.

Sounds more like they're just adding stuff after the ending, and not stuff in the ends.

If I had to guess, there's going to be a speech with Hackett, and your LI, (or Shepard if he's still alive in Destroy), and the choice that was made, and the possible future for the galaxy.
