so, I was over at my brother's house last week, staying with him. Since we had some spare time I decided to start me3 for the the first time on my xbl profile. I haven't purchased any dlc (from ashes in particular). In fact when I started playing through I didn't even know there was dlc.

anyways I played for about 10 hours on my bros Xbox and then went home. When I went home I tried to continue playing on my Xbox but it wouldn't load my save gave saying that I needed from ashes to continue... This is really annoying me since I never had it to begin with. My brother has it on his profile, but that should effect my game should it?

please help. Thanks in advance.

It will affect your game as the game you started recognised From Ashes being available to you.
Since it is a new game you can't even go back to an earlier save before accessing a console with that dlc. As such the only 'solutions' are to purchase the dlc or start the game from scratch again (hence losing your progress).

that is super lame. Why would it detect the content being available to me if I never bought the dlc? I was signed into my own profile when I started the game.

if it means I have to restart, I'm just gonna sell the game. It's really not worth the effort. I think. After reading reviews of the dlc, it's not worth 10 bucks to me.

Put it this way. If that someone played a game with dlc on your 360 with their Gamertag; went home to play on the dlc-less game back home, they would have the same problem.

Dlcs are supposed to be capable of being shared on the same console; that is why the game recognizes it. It's also the way dlcs and arcade game purchases are supposed to work on the 360. Otherwise every single Gamertag owner on the same console will have to purchase the same piece of software.

The 'solutions' are as mentioned above, so it is your decision.
