I'll start off by saying Tali and Legion are two of my favorite characters in the series, (in a series of amazing characters.) Also, couldn't find another post about this, and this seemed like the place to put it.
Since Legion and Tali, who are both awesome, are the best examples to represent their people, I think it is safe to say both races have great merit. This is not so easily argued for the Quarians considering the Admirals; but while their Admirals may be idiots, the Quarians you encounter overall are pretty cool/helpful.
My playthroughs ended with peace between the Geth and Quarians. I can't imagine it any other way because having to choose one or the other would have sucked, even if the Quarian leaders were idiots about a lot of things.
So, why all the hate for quarians? I see some people spouting off about them being suit rats. Really? How are these people coming to this conclusion? I can see the geth mistrust, but they prove themselves so I have trouble seeing the anti-geth viewpoints.
Can anyone explain all the contention for me?
What is with all the Quarian hate (Geth too for that matter)

People are just butthurt. I personally like both of them.
Desperate people show true colors. When they show true colors it gets interesting.
Sure the Geth lied to Shepard alot but even machines can get desperate.

I didn't even know there was widespread hate for Quarian and Geth races. A few spouts of nonsense here and there, but there is always someone hating something.

I hate them because of some Talimancers, so everytime there is a poll I say I want to kill Tali, but I'm really cool with them

Thank you, Rickets, for a constructive post. I feel the majority of players think along our lines, but I am curious as to if the ardent Quarian/Geth haters want to defend themselves. However, judging by the lack of maturity in the Quarian haters' posts I don't know...
EDIT. Was too slow. Thanks for the replies guys. I think yall are right; I have noticed some very vocal people tho so I was curious.

Reasonable people are hard to find on these forums. Just saying.
Edit:
Every community has it's own bad apples and they can sour other peoples opinions in very negative ways.

I really don't see the rationality of wiping out an entire race of people full of families, and loved ones who are just desparate enough to want their home back after 300 years. You can only hold it together for only so long before you start to go stier crazy. Most of them didn't even WANT to go to war. I'm shock that so many people judge an entire race because of a few short sighted people.
Thats like saying that the Germans are the cause of all the problems of the 20th century, so we should wipe them all out of existence and turn their entire country into the new Chernobyl.
