So ah what happened to Hudson?

I am not content with everything in Mass Effect but all of this has nothing to do with what's going on here. Even questioning how an employee (whatever his position) is doing with his family is none of your business.
The answer? He took a lot of harsh criticism (justified or not) so one might figure the spokesperson of the team will reappear once there is something to speak about. They know we didn't like the ending, they're working on something to change that (possible or not).
Look at us. It's not people being unsatisfied with the ending itself, but many of the ways to tell everybody about it, that make me ashamed to tell somebody "this is a gamer". And when it comes to picking on individual people (using swearwords or not), I'd say that's f*cking enough.
We've heard all the funny memes, we see through all the ever intelligent sarcasm that covers sheer bitterness. There is nothing to come up with regarding this subject that isn't just plain annoying anymore.
I am not gonna go with the "this is just a computer game, wake up nerds" because I damn well know, how great it is to let yourself get lost in an amazing universe like this. Knowing it is fictional, but still just letting yourself get gripped by and attached to those characters and forget everyday life for a (long) while. I tried to talk impressionable ME1 Garrus into using his talents for the right reasons, and didn't take ME3 Ash on a mission when she was hungover. I'm every bit as passionate about this series as I suppose most of you are.
This thing however, got way out of line. Way out of line.

LEAVE CASEY HUDSON ALOOOOOOOOOOOOONE

But Hudson runs MASS EFFECT. Beyond it being creatively fulfilling for him, it's also his livelihood. So when a staggering amount of your base community completely rejects the end of the trilogy, it's gotta sting. For both reasons.
I despise the ending. I think it's a pathetic failure from a narrative standpoint, and also from an artistic one (in that they tried to run alongside the Hollywood big dogs with something open and artsy and it just ... didn't work).
But I'm kinda excited (and cautious) for the extended cut. Casey has obviously heard the fans LOUD AND CLEAR in the past. Why assume he isn't listening now with respect to the EC?

He lives in isolation among the locals now, calling himself "Banner".
If he is seen, do not approach him, but more importantly do NOT, under any circumstances, discuss the ending!
It will make him mad..
You just ripped that from the script of the Hulk. You don't fool me >.>

sorry but no. He needs to be severely restricted for future projects to prevent crap like this. And yes he should face the music too...why not? why shield him from the ****storm he created when he did so deliberately? Why would he deserve to be protected from it all when the very message of the games he has produced is to face the consequences of one's decisions?
So that tells me, you just need someone to aim your aggression at. Again, I'm not saying nobody did anything wrong, I'm just asking what can you extract from yelling at someone? Again, and again.
Ask yourself this: Do you seriously believe that either Casey Hudson or anyone on the BW creative department thought to themselves "Ha, and now we gonna lie to those suckers, just for kicks". I also cannot believe they'd announce something which such pride, that they were in fact unable to deliever even in the tiniest form - at that time. It just does not add up with the rest of what BioWare did for us over all the years. There were some serious internas going on if you ask me, and I suppose that was the ultimate reason some things in the game all of a sudden were quite obviously cut down a bunch, while other, unrelevant little side quests and dialogues were executed in all nice details.
You may not realize what complicated construct creating an AAA videogame is. Want my opinion? If anything, there were last minute changes, I am fully conviced that they had something way more thoughtful but also time (and money) consuming in mind. But nowadays making a game of the caliber that ME reached, it's not 5 creative buddies with a programming degree sitting in a basement anymore. I'm not assuming you wouldn't know that, just want to remind.

Believe it or not I totally agree with both of you. :innocent:
First, I am a proud member of the retake movement. I was very generous to the Child's Play charity and went to donate for the cupcakes, but was 45 minutes too late. I hated the endings, and couldn't believe the same people who did the first 95% of ME 3 also did the endings.
That said, I think the very fact that they are doing EC is an admission that they made a mistake. Since the EC announcement I've backed off. Still holding the line, but hey, they are doing something.
I have faith that they can pull this off. As I said just look at the majority of ME 3 as evidence of how good they can be. I may be let down again, but it certainly won't be the first time. But, give them, yes even Hudson and Walters, along with the others a chance.
I think all the hate is a reason we aren't getting any updates whatsoever on EC's progress. Anything they say will still be torn apart and thrown back at them.
Give them a chance to fix this. That way, if they pull it off, you will have a lot less crow to eat.

EA is currently torturing him for the ending.
Don't get too excited, they're also brainwashing him into adding more day-one DLC into future projects.

Cool Story Bro. Welcome to the internet. But if everyone's pesky opinions are bothing you this much, perhaps you should go elsewere. Probably a place where they don't allow swearing.

As far as the fanbase is concerned, his pre-release statements and personal involvement in the endings make him the bad guy. In all honesty, I imagine he's under orders to stay off the radar atm.

Well if that's the case the EC dlc is doomed:?
