he was awesome in Krapp's Last Tape; that could be his unofficial audition tape -- I doubt he would actually need to audition for a part, but anyhoo.. : D

John Hurt and his raspy voice would make a lovely cliched yet awesome eccentric getting-on-abit mage/priest type person.

If John Hurt needed to audition, I couldn't see the casting personel lasting long in the business.
He done voice acting before most of us were born.(watership down)

Ben Browder - DO IT!
No Ben Browder! No no! Take Michael Shanks! Not that Ben Browder is a bad actor, just mediocre... in my opinion. His acting sometimes seem forced, escpecially his voice... like he is trying to push it out.
If you must have someone from Sci-Fi -zone, consider Michael Shanks or David Hewlett, or even Paul McGillion!
As for women... well, Claudia Black was a great choice for DAO. She does have a memorable voice and I would love to hear her in future too. As for others... I don't really know. Um, how about... Carol Channing?

I'm sure someone has mentioned Christopher Walken by now, so instead of looking to verify, I will simply second it. Villain or eccentric Grey Warden, it matters not.

Christopher Walken!? That would be pure murder... it's like... he could kill me with his voice just by saying: "Die.".
But that's a good thing.

After searching youtube i found a video showing very moving voice acting. www.youtube.com/watch
You know, the first one had me thinking "oh, these aren't going to be funny lame, just kinda lame."
Then Shenmue comes up and I'm thinking "The translations were stiff, and the dialog delivery is very robotic and slow, but the voice acting, all things considered, still isn't funny bad."
And then we hit numbers 3-1.
THOSE were FUNNY BAD!

Pleeeease more Alistair/Steve Valentine? Pretty please?
The guy who was Jaster from Rogue Galaxy was good too, I don't remember his name though.

John Madden. LOL
OUTSTANDING, my good man. Yes.
The Men-
John Lithgow
Michael C Hall (Dexter was that good last night, and he'd be a kickass Gone Evil Alistair)
Abe Vigoda
Jean Reno
Somebody said Ian McKellan... beat me to it, can't imagine anyone better.
Marc Dacascos
Howie Long
Zach Galifinakis
Sam Rockwell
Taye Diggs
Tom Wilkinson is also awesome
And if you can get a version done with Tracy Morgan voice acting ALL the parts, that'd be awesome.
The Women
Monica Bellucci
Jennifer Carpenter (the 100% perfect casting for Ashley from Mass Effect, but also a sadly underrated actress in general terms)
Karen O
Joan Rivers
Leslie Mann
Kristen Wiig
Kristin Chenoweth
Gina Bellman
Can you get Bjork?
And yeah, I realize 95% of this list is totally unavailable.

How awesome would Wynne's character have been if Jane Lynch had been hired and just turned loose on 90% of her dialogue?

Vin Diesel as a sly Assassin. A bit of a kick back from Riddick but his voice just works for that sort of role IMHO.
Edit : Actually I think Sigourney Weaver would work as a monarch or high mage too.
Edit2 : Ming-Na does a good job of voice acting too.

Ok, I know that was shameless...
I've seen some great suggestions so far.
I'd like to chime in on the LoK reuinion. Kain (Simon Templeman) and Raziel (Michael Bell) back together would be amazing. Too bad Tony Jay died. He had an amazing voice. Jay Robinson is still around though, he's kind of close. Might as well throw in Richard Doyle too.
Bruce Campbell would be epic.
