Firstly before people assume this is a rage about having to change disks, it's not.
Basically everytime I'm prompted to switch disks it doesn't progress from that stage, I have to restart my game with the correct disk to progress. Is this a console issue or what? Xbox support seem certain it's a save issue not hardware. Luckily it autosaves before a mission which requires the disc change, but it's annoying having to return to dashboard, restart the game, load the game do a mission or two then have to repeat.
Any help would be nice, I'm fed up of needing start the game on Disc one or two to do those missions... the transition should work and it has in the past.

Do you recall any issues with disc reading before with your console in any game? Or is this the first problem you've experienced with putting a game disc in the disc tray? Do you run the discs directly or are they installed into a disc image on your hard drive?

Then I don't think it's a problem with your optical drive. Have you tried putting in the correct disc and then wait a couple of minutes? Or taking it back out and in again within the prompt screen? And what did Xbox support mean exactly when they said it's a save issue? Do you have any corrupted files in your Mass Effect 3 system / game folder?

I had no corrupted files, and I waited 10 minutes after switching discs, and attempting to take it out again returns you to the dashboard, thus restarting again with the correct CD in. I cleared Cache etc and checked saves, nothing wrong with them. They just speculated that it wasn't a hardware issue and offered some tips as to fixing it, aka clearing the cache and checking for corrupted files.

Three more things you could try:
*Try playing around with the 'autoplay' settings in the dashboard options.
*Try reinstalling both disc images or run it directly through the disc.
*Try to disconnect from Xbox live while in the prompt screen.
