Concept:
- This build is reliant on heavy spike damage. Unlike utilization of a Sniper Rifle for spike damage, the shotgun is very up close and personal and has the Infiltrator use mobility to “Assassinate” targets. This build seeks to amplify weapons damage to an apex while creating a debuff to “mark” targets for Assassination. Think of the play style as a “backstabbing Rogue”.. Or Assassin Build from DragonAge.
The basic strategy is as follows: Use Tactical Cloak often; advanced players will use the ability strategically as you cannot recharge shields while cloak is active. The best method of use is to circumvent a group of enemies and take them out one by one from behind. The AI in the game tends to focus on what it can see if it is being fired upon. So, if you team is focusing on a group of enemies, you have the ability to cloak and meticulously assassinate that group from behind without too much trouble. Just be warned on Gold, you do not want to stray too far out from your teammates – remember, it requires a team to win. You’re as much of a lone wolf as you can be, but you cannot win by yourself.
Basically, during cloak, you pick a Target, then use Cryo Blast to mark that target. Your cloak will not drop, but Cryo Blast will significantly lower the Targets defenses (much like Assassin’s Mark in DragonAge). Cryo Blast lowers the defense of regular targets by 25%, and lowers the Defense of Armored Targets by 50%. the Claymore Shotgun X has the largest Base Damage Bar in the game – On silver, this setup can One Shot a Phantom with a Close Headshot, do ¾’s the Armor bar on a Brute, or even kill a Banshee solo in about 4 shots..That is if
the banshee isn’t glitching of course. On Gold, you have the ability to dosimilar significant spike damage, Ravagers and Brutes can be taken down rather quickly (one shot for Ravagers if you're point blank, two shots for brutes), Phantoms can be dealt with by headshots and Primes are really aren’t too difficult as well. The best part being is, that if the battles get up close and personal, like they most oftentimes do on Gold, you have a shotgun..
