My favorite (which unfortunately I can't download into a profile right now) is my Faren, a 2H warrior Dwarf. The name was randomly generated, but it seemed to match perfectly with dwarf --> faren --> ferrous (iron, for all of those chemistry nerds out there). He's casteless bruiser with the casteless tattoo on his right check, a horizontal line on his left, and another tattoo sticking above his eye. His his face is very similar to the "Splat" human picture in the DA:O generic picture profiles, but with slightly less beard, his check bones set lower to avoid the generally feminine high cheek bone look. He's also got medium large eyebrows for a gruffer look and a larger than average nose (but not huge) to kind of give the appearance that he's had it broken and resest poorly more than a few times. His eyes look slightly sullen, as if he realizes how much it life sucks for the casteless but has to hide it on the inside to remain tough looking enough so as to not appear weak. The portrait faces slightly right to show the tattooing on both sides of his face and slightly up, giving the look of a glumy, down trodden man who still, against all reason, has a secret hope for the future.
(SPOILER ALERT) I think that for the background story and my general personallity for him it works very well. After all, as a casteless reject I've worked my way from your average bruiser with a drunken whoring mother and a hopeful sister (his only light in his life) into killing the boss of a carta, trying to take over his business afterwards until Duncan forcibly conscripted me, getting the mages killed, betraying the elves to the werewolves, and enslaving the golems. I'm still up in the air as to what I want to do with Lorain. I love Alister's personality, but I'd be a right bast@$% by letting Lorain live, which is kind of my motif. Decisions... decisions. I think that I'll do that since I use Shale anyways, so Lorain's bad stats/abilities won't matter at all.
I love my character's portrait because it just so perfectly fits his entire life and background and looks like the type of bully who really wishes that he could stop being one but because of circumstances acts like one so that the people with true hope and promise (like his sister) have a bettter chance in the world. Complicated emotions for just one picture. Is this a thousand words yet?
