I so badly want to mod my char's to make them how I see them, I've never done anything like this, I've spent 9 hours now reading and trying to create new faces for my chars (leliana, morrigan etc.)...........I just can't figure this out.

I open the toolset and right click in the main area and select New Creature......then I can find the basic human male or female....but I can't seem to change anything such as hair or facial features.....I honestly have no idea what I'm doing here but I have the time and drive to do this......is there not a hands on guide that walks you through creating one even a basic one and then I can learn from that.....

I tried the wiki site and maybe I'm missing something because I'm frustrated but this is driving me crazy.....

Please help

Those are helpful, but I'm trying to change the in game character. Not sure if its just that simple. I downloaded a morph of leliana and the file is like 8kb. I place it into t he override and it works no problem, The file I've made is like 271 kb....and when I do the same thing...I go into game and lelianna has no head....at all.....so I know I'm screwing it up but I'm on the right track.

hmmm well you need to get that .mor file to make it work properly and slap it into MyDocuments/Bioware/DragonAge/packages/core/override.

When you finish your head morph you can save it (which makes the .mrh) and then you can "Post to Local" by right clicking on it and going down to Export>Post to Local. That makes your .mor you need to replace the character's head. You should see in the Log window where the file was exported to, I generally just cut/paste it into the above directory. Remember to call it (for Leliana) hf_genfl_leliana.mor

You might notice the scale of your new noggin to be smallish on the character, I have had to adjust all of my morphs to be a bit larger to make it look up to scale in game. As a reference, using say Morrigan's unique slider at 100, I put her Jaw Lower option to 70 and adjust from there...you can experiment with how it looks when you see it in-game.

If you're trying to edit YOUR character, you will have to edit a savegame from your character in the toolset. Should be in MyDocs/Bioware/DragonAge/Characters/*insert name*/Saves/(choose any of those saves to edit, I used my quick save slot myself). You're looking for the *.das file to edit, then open it with your Toolset.

Once it opens you'll get your savegame.das file in there. Follow to Savegame_PlayChar>Savegame_PlayChar_Char>SaveGame_Appearance. There's a morph line down there, just replace the value with the name of your desired head morph without the .mor suffix. Then you can load up the game and as long as your morphs are in the packages/core/override file and renamed i.e. hf_genfl_leliana, em_genfl_zevran etc. you should be golden when you load the game or for a savegame edit load that save and make a quicksave/overwrite to keep that face.

Good luck, hope I didn't miss anything, lol.

What do you mean you're trying to edit the in game character? the advice given in the two threads still allow you to give your character and companions different heads?

Perhaps they misunderstood the process. Sounds like they're looking at the .mrh and trying to use that rather than the .mor (different file size mentioned)

I think what I did was create an entire charactor and then renamed the exported MOR file to be the morph file for leliana's head....which is why its FUBAR right now LOL. I'm going to play with it more tonight and see what happens.
