Is there any way to craft or enchant items in SoZ that are not part of SoZ's own crafting system?

On Thieves-Guild.com it says: "All of the magical benches found in your trading posts (EXCEPT for the
one in your merchant headquarters) can be used with the Crafting Recipes
from the Original Campaign."

Well, I'm not exactly sure what my "merchant headquarters" is; I've been in at least two places with benches - West Harbor and Crossroad Keep, which both seemed pretty headquarterish to me. And of course, if there is no way to OPEN a workbench, then it sure won't let me craft anything the OC way. And all benches I've encountered have been unopenable – a text square pops up whenever I click on them.

I used the console to give my wizard an enchanter's satchel, originally an item from MotB. The wizard is a Wizard (6) and Red Wizard (7), and I tried to make a frost weapon enchantment which requires a caster level of 10, and I put a scimitar +2, a star sapphire and a weak water essence into the satchel. Then I cast Ice Storm on it. It said it was not a valid recipe. Seems unfortunately like hard cold proof that the enchanter's satchel won't work in SoZ anyway. Or?

I also have the Complete Craftsman hak installed, which adds more recipes at least to the OC. Do you know if it's supposed to work in SoZ? I was able to make a few things with it in the OC but sadly I inexplicably failed to create a couple of the items I had coveted the most.

When I play, I think of creating items and enchanting about 70 % of the time. Most other stuff is secondary to me. I do not want to be limited by SoZ own low-level crafting, which includes items that give no feeling of satisfaction – they are merely for "keeping up".

hey,

I suggest using the Rebalanced Complete Craftsman -- both versions are buggy (particularly when playing MotB) but the rebalanced version has recipes that make more sense. If you have problems crafting an item that is plot-specific ( MotB ), or just standard fare ( for the OC ) a good bet is to simply remove the add-on from Override and try again. Then put it back in ...

Regarding OC crafting in SoZ: yes, you can find benches that work in the Sword Coast (Leilon, i think?) I seldom used the satchel .....

Beware, that you don't have duplicate files in Override from different add-ons. luxor, but I'll be honest, if you really want to do good crafting ya'll have to bang yer head against scripts & .2da's

Highcliff, Port Last. I think Neverwinter proper as well.

I, by the way, am the one who originally discovered this and posted it way back when on the Lost Forum.  Bwahahahaha..
