Ok, so I booted up DA Origins recently (partly due to the whole "Is the Warden a God among mortals" debate going on in another thread). Also, keep in mind I installed DAO to an external harddrive, so maybe that will have an effect on this issue. I dont think so, though, since the problem persists even when playing with the game disc alone.

I usually have my xbox set up in my room, where there is no internet connection for XBL. We have a connection in our game room, but sometimes I just want to play games in my own room. Nothing wrong with that, right?

Well apparently there is.

You see, I own the DAO Ultimate Edition, so I own ALL of the DLC. I have owned it for years now, and never had an issue. But now, whenever I turn the game on, it says all of my DLC is corrupt, and lists each as "unknown downloadable content."

At first I wasnt sure what the problem was, so I deleted all of the content and re-installed it via the 2nd disc that comes in the Ulimate Edition. When it finished, I was able to play with the DLC intact. I thought that fixed the problem, but it didnt, obviously.

Next day, the same thing happened. The so-called "Unknown DLC" was corrupt again. So I brought the xbox into our game room and signed into LIVE. Sure enough, the game required an update, so I figured "ok, THAT must be the problem." I installed the update, re-re-installed the DLC, and brought it back into my room. Once again, it played just fine.

And today, I turned the game on, only to be met with, yet again, that "Unknown DLC is corrupt" message.

So what exactly is going on here? Did I miss some big announcement that DLC no longer works offline because BioWare/EA or whoever decided they wanted to royally ****** off people for no reason?

I mean, come on! I bought the Ultimate Edition! I paid for my content! I registered the stupid game to your website and everything! Is that not enough confirmation that I own the content I paid for?

I know it's easy to say "well just play online, dude!" But thats not the problem here. I should be able to play the game I purchased, with my own money, online or offline, without stupid roadbumps like this.

What is the issue here, and how can I fix it?

Sounds to me that at some point you changed your 360. The corrupt dlc message and its variants are typical of such a case. Perform a content license transfer and that should fix the issue (link in sig).

But thats just it; I didnt change my 360. It's the same one I've been using for years. :(

Still wouldn't hurt to perform the content license transfer to see if that solves it. If it doesn't help, then you could also try recovering your Gamertag to further consolidate licenses to your console. Sometimes it takes a few times for dlc content to somehow 'click' until it works (this seems rather random having suffered a similar issue myself albeit with different dlc content).

I can't see how other actions like clearing the cache would help, though that could always be done.

Additionally, does this problem occur for any other game you have? Just trying to determine whether it is DAO specific or something more general.

Ok, so I think I fixed it.

Like you suggested, I tested out other games (Halo Reach, Saints Row 3, and Fallout New vegas) and had no issue.

Then I remembered how Wardens Keep can be all buggy and weird sometimes, so I removed everything, again, and installed all the content EXCEPT wardens keep. Then I installed it separately, and now the DLC seems to be working just fine.

Fingers crossed that the issue is resolved.
