So between the canonical entries we have so far I want to know their chronological order.

Is it: 1.The Stolen Throne
        2.DA:O
        3.DA:A
        4.(The book who's name I regrettably forgot)
        5.DA2
        6.Asunder
        7.Silent Grove

???????????????

Silent Grove might take place before Asunder, I don't actually know for sure, I'm waiting for the hardcover version to come out. After Silent Grove though there will be Those Who Speak. Redemption also takes place (I think) before DA2 Act 1.

Ah I forgot Dawn Of The Seeker, if they got the Divine right, as it is Justinia V it would have to take place at least by act 2 in DA2 9:34 Dragon age.

Depends how you define canonical. Asunder and Silent Grove aren't technically canon either.

Well, in a way they follow the way the story that is being told in side media the way BioWare/David Gaider tell the story. However things like Wynne being alive and Alistair being King are not going to ever be pushed on us in game and overriding the choices about those, and DG said that if we ever hear about those things in game the circumstances will change based on what choice we made, or the event may never have happened. But unlike Anders always becoming a Grey Warden and then leaving for Kirkwall, that is an overridden choice and is canon so if you define canon as choices that replace the choices you made in game, (That is what I do) those two fall under "alternate universe" and not canon according to Gaider in this thread http://social.biowar...ex/7637176&lf=8. But the descriptions for both say canonical, but it is only sort of true.

So I read all of that and now I'm confused a bit. So........all the stuff in the books and comics and short stories, could have or could not have happened depending on............you?

Well, for example if Wynne is dead she obviously doesn't free Rhys and there is a good chance he dies after being accused of being the killer of white spire. And someone else "may" go find Pharamond or may not. That is sort of what I mean. But that would only happen if the ever mention it again. But considering it is the reversal of the rite of tranquility it is majorly important and probably will come up, should they tell you how. Or as Wynne was the one who talked the fraternities into peace with the Chantry before the final choice at the end of Asunder, it is possible the circles would have fully rebelled before Asunder could have ever happened at all. Obviously if Alistair is dead there is a good chance Isabela and Varric never go to Antiva to find out what happened to Maric. Not saying any of that is fact, but it does provide the possibillity of it to change.

I would consider the prequel novels to be canonical because they don't have much potential to conflict with anything. But if you look in the link I posted you can read how Gaider describes it. Not to suggest it isn't sort of convoluted. Hope that is clearer.

Dawn of the Seeker is Canon and was stated as such in the behind the scenes extra features. Not sure how the novels fit in with canon, but I could have sworn I heard somewhere that Comic/Novel/Movie(anime)/Games were all of the same canon. I'm trying to find out where I saw it.
