Why did Bioware force the EDI/Joker relationship on us and make it out to be so important?

Were they trying to be arty and deep here or something? Was it just so we could get the Adam and Eve conntations from them at the end when they're stranded on the planet?
For some reason it felt like ME3 was almost anchored around this synthetic/organic realtionship, with these 2 at the forefront.

I felt insulted that the only two characters and realtionships that got any real closure were these two and I didn't really like the relationship to begin with. I didn't care about these two, I wanted to know what happened to the other charcters that I spent 3 games with building relationships, not one that started with the 3rd and was a realtionship that had nothing to do with Shepard and wasn't one I had built.

This is a relationship that pretty much began in this game and i don't see why Bioware put so much attention towards it (catering to new player again perhaps?) and made it out as if it was a relationship they had been building for 3 solid games (even in the second game their relationship is more of learning to accept changes rather that something personal). Felt so forced.

Who dropped the ball on this? Who's idea was this? Do not get it at all.

Not exatcly what I mean. I mean why did they put so much ATTENTION on it and make it out to be so IMPORTANT. Regardless of if they got together or not

How could a human love a robot? It must be a good sex machine because its the only reason i can think of.

The balance of organics and synthetics is an important theme in the series, or so the ending suggests.

Joker and EDI represent how the two can co operate.

Fans requested it, made countless fics and artwork about it, and brought it up in the threads a lot.

That's why.

Didn't we already have that symbolised through the Geth/Quarian stuff? :/

Also if they're co operating then that contradicts Starchild..hm

You may want to ready your flameshield, OP. Fans often get angry when you disapprove of character shipping.

Really? I only saw people petition for a Joker/Shep romance. Even the Joker thread in the character section said that they're against the relationship...

Yes we did, but they just wanted to push it a bit further I guess seeing as they decide to have it as the endings major theme.

And yes it completely contradicts him, why we couldn't point this out to him I'll never understand.

Because the loving relationship between an organic and a synthetic is exactly what the Catalyst was afraid of.

Wait

Probably to show that EDI has become more of an individual and can think for herself, in the way that organics typically have their own "soul". Similar to what happened to Legion and the Geth at the end of Priority: Rannoch if you choose to let them upload the Reaper code.

Why randomly push that so much in the final game? Seems like something that should have been there from the start.

Actually, Legion gets told he has a soul even if you don't let him upload the code.

The Joker/EDI stuff has been implied since the 2nd game.

Anyway I like it, it challenged me. The funny thing is more people were comfortable with this than sleeping with aliens or comforting a guy who lost his partner.

I loved the relationship building from hate to mutual respect in ME2, from affection to love in ME3. Watching love blossom despite so much going against them (different 'species', galactic war, general antipathy and distrust of synthetics in the ME universe) was amazing. The geth/quarian issue shows they can work together but geth dont seem capable of romantic love (though prhaps after reaper uprades who knows), EDI is a different beast just as turians are different from humans. She is individualistic and ME3 explores just how sentient these synthetics are capable of being. They can think and even love and this love can transcend some incredible barriers. I prefered this romance even to my own shepards

I've never picked the option to destroy the Geth. I guess Legion had a soul, and it's the other Geth who gain consciousness.

EDI is an infiltration unit in that body, and that's exactly what she has done, don't be surprised if EDI turns out to be a traitor, who's to say Eva was completely purged from the body.

EDI: It was not a seamless transition.

Of course, this assumes some kind of continuation in the EC

Also - when AI transfer to other another blue box, there is always variations in personality etc. Says something about it in the codex.

That would be brilliant.

"Do not worry, Jeff, I will let you live."

"Really? Oh thank y-"

"That was a joke."

Simple, to prove to us that the Catalyst is full of s*** and is a liar who is leading you into a trap.  Organics and synthetics can get along and even fall in love in this case.

It's not forced, but it is still ****ing stupid.

I don't want EDI with ******, I want the clever AI that is a smart-mouth and tries to make jokes, while directly inside the Normandy.

I liked the idea of EDI having a body at first, but the large metal breast, camel-toe outfit, and romance is stupid.

This romance stuff is just getting out of hand.
