EDIT: I should have clarified in my post that new files were not being uploaded to my profile and I was well under the 100 max limit.

error 1005 is ONLY a problem if your total number of files is at or near 100, i.e. nothing new can get uploaded.

I tried to delete my screenshots, 3 worked and the last one failed with a white page with text saying FATAL ERROR: and some programming code that I didn't understand since I don't know any programming. This was where I went wrong:
I then attempted to delete my whole character, using the browser refresh method mentioned in this post of mine:
For most profile problems: Browser refresh is your friend
What I should have done is hit the browser refresh button on the fatal error screen until it worked. I actually suspect that every time I hit refresh it deleted a copy of the file since I had to hit it twice.

Uzetaab : are you using the 1.02 patch? In theory, there were some fixes to the upload screenshot UI in that game patch, which sound like what you encountered.

He says that it's a problem, not that it won't still occur. It just doesn't have any real significance. It's a game bug that will be fixed eventually, and until then you can either 1) ignore it, or 2) keep deleting your characters from the website to clear up space. Obviously there's no need for the latter unless you need the space, because it will most likely just happen again.TriggerHappy64 wrote...
Well check out my photo in the first post. I'm nowhere near the 100 files mark and yet I have the 1005 error. I'm also playing with patch 1.02.

I deleted my main character this morning. I went in game a few times -- equipped/unequipped, etc. Still no updates, although the character I deleted still shows up in the list of characters on the Profile Diagnostics page.

The error is related to the fact that you have 4+ files uploaded for your character. This is not the intended behavior but for now is to be expected. Until you reach the 100 files overall limit, you don't have to worry about this error, since the site is able to handle the files all right.Xyan wrote...

I'm at 61 files and I get this error too.

Well, good sir, you obviously didn't understand it or you wouldn't have worded your post that way. It sounds like you still don't.TriggerHappy64 wrote...
Thanks Mr. Obvious. Your comment also seems to lack any real significance.
No, you're not having a problem, but you are experiencing a bug; along with many other users. There's a subtle but huge difference. You will not be having a problem until the total file count approaches 100, such that you are prevented from uploading new files.TriggerHappy64 wrote...
And for the record, he's stating that it's ONLY a problem if you're at or close to 100 files, and none of us were even close to the maximum amount yet we were still having problems.
