Does anyone else get this error?  It says I have 5 files for this character and I'm not sure if that's too many but I'm also well under the max number of files (100).  Picutre below.

http://i95.photobuck...iowareerror.jpg

EDIT:  I should have clarified in my post that new files were not being uploaded to my profile and I was well under the 100 max limit.

What would happen if I just deleted this character on the website, would it re-upload my information again?

I have this error as well. Also, my profile is not being updated any longer from within the game. My character is now level 18 and my online profile still shows me at level 11 (many day ago). I am obviously logged in to the same profile from within the game, etc. I'm able to get downloadable content as well - but no profile updates.

I deleted my character profile online and I still have achievements being updated but my character ceases to exist. I wish there was some way to fix this.

*Update* After deleting my online character profile it has been re-added and is now functioning.  I still however, have the Error 1005 on the profile diagnostics page.

Just a quick question: how many files does it report to be uploaded for you character? If it's more than 4, it might be a reason for the error code. Same potential issue brought up here. If after a fresh character upload it's more than four AND you get the 1005 code, than we have it pretty much confirmed that the error has little to do with the overall number of files.

If you check the link I provided, you can see exactly how many files there are. There are 5.

Aye, my bad. I actually checked the link, then started to write a response but changed it in the process. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa ;)

I was having problems with this error & made the mistake of deleting my whole character when the solution was easier than that. My character has been re-uploaded, but without a profile picture and it's now updating, so it's mostly fixed, I'm hoping that the profile pic will upload itself eventually, I'll just have to wait and see.

However, it turned out that my problem was with screenshots. The game had only successfully uploaded 1 screenshot due to high server traffic, so I tried to force an upload of all my screenshots by using the select all button on my ingame profile & clicking the upload button.

The first 3 uploaded ok, but the 4th happened to be the one that was already uploaded & the upload progress failed at that point, or something along those lines anyway. At that point my game stopped uploading anything at all.

I tried to delete my screenshots, 3 worked and the last one failed with a white page with text saying FATAL ERROR: and some programming code that I didn't understand since I don't know any programming. This was where I went wrong:

I then attempted to delete my whole character, using the browser refresh method mentioned in this post of mine:
For most profile problems: Browser refresh is your friend
What I should have done is hit the browser refresh button on the fatal error screen until it worked. I actually suspect that every time I hit refresh it deleted a copy of the file since I had to hit it twice.

Anyway, I suspect I am not the only person to mess up their profile by trying to upload the same screenshot twice, don't make my mistake, delete all your screenshots first. If that doesn't work, try deleting cookies, cache, or try using a different browser before attempting to delete a whole character.

good luck.

I deleted my main character this morning. I went in game a few times -- equipped/unequipped, etc. Still no updates, although the character I deleted still shows up in the list of characters on the Profile Diagnostics page.

error 1005 is ONLY a problem if your total number of files is at or near 100, i.e. nothing new can get uploaded.

Uzetaab : are you using the 1.02 patch? In theory, there were some fixes to the upload screenshot UI in that game patch, which sound like what you encountered.

I get the same error during the online profile diagnostic. A few days ago I started getting a message in game saying it could not connect to my online storage. Wondering if the two are related.

Lucky, I saw today that now i can upload screenshots which is a good sign

Also, I'm getting the message "HOLA %1$S,

%2$S HA PUBLICADO UN NUEVO COMENTARIO EN UNO DE SUS LISTADOS DE CLASIFICADOS. POR FAVOR, HAGA CLIC EN EL ENLACE A CONTINUACIÓN PARA VERLO:

%3$S

SALUDOS CORDIALES,

In the profile character page, manage characters and profile diagnostics, messing the interface. And sometimes -> Invalid persona/game combination or Unnable to connect to database

I had the same 1005 problem with 13 files. Diagnostics page listed 20 screenshots, however I could only see 9 in the "Manage screenshots" section. And every time I tried to delete one, I got the same error page - however, when I tried to press F5 again and again, the screenshots were successfully deleted. So this method works!
Now my profile hasn't got any screenshots, but it's getting updated. :D

Well check out my photo in the first post.  I'm nowhere near the 100 files mark and yet I have the 1005 error.  I'm also playing with patch 1.02.

In response to the number of screenshots, I suspect that problems occur if someone were to load a saved game and play a part of the game that they already played and it takes a screenshot, and then the game attempts to upload that same screenshot it took earlier.  That, or you try to upload the same screenshot more than once.  I have many screenshots in my profile in-game that say "awaiting upload."  I often upload these manually and that might be part of the problem, I'm not sure.

Perhaps the game or website is lacking something that checks to see if you already have a particular file/screenshot uploaded and so you end up with multiple copies of things that corrupts the online profile.

@ Uzetaab: Did removing the screenshots also remove the Error 1005 on the profile diagonistics page?

He says that it's a problem, not that it won't still occur. It just doesn't have any real significance. It's a game bug that will be fixed eventually, and until then you can either 1) ignore it, or 2) keep deleting your characters from the website to clear up space. Obviously there's no need for the latter unless you need the space, because it will most likely just happen again.

Interesting ...

My character showed up sometime between 4PM EST and now (9PM EST). Look at the "date last updated" ... Last updated 2009-12-11 01:25:08 -- umm -- that's tomorrow. Is it possible that we have some date synchronization errors happening here?

Another point as well. Malara is now there, but she is still level 15 on the profile. She's level 17 in game. I think it was almost a week or since since she was lvl 15. My achievements, OTOH, looks to be *mostly* up to date.

I'm at 61 files and I get this error too.

The error is related to the fact that you have 4+ files uploaded for your character. This is not the intended behavior but for now is to be expected. Until you reach the 100 files overall limit, you don't have to worry about this error, since the site is able to handle the files all right.
I'd say some bigger problem lies somewhere in the data transfer between the storage servers and the BSN.

v1.02
No, I still have the 1005 error, but everything is working and updating properly again, so I'm not complaining.

character: Uzetaab files:8 error:1005
character: Solona files: 4 error: none
There are 10 screenshots in your on-line storage.
Number of Files 22
Maximum Files Allowed 100
Space Used 3.99 MB
Maximum Space Allowed 350.00 MB

I think that covers all questions, did I miss anything?

Thanks Mr. Obvious.  Your comment also seems to lack any real significance.  And for the record, he's stating that it's ONLY a problem if you're at or close to 100 files, and none of us were even close to the maximum amount yet we were still having problems.

Well, good sir, you obviously didn't understand it or you wouldn't have worded your post that way. It sounds like you still don't.

No, you're not having a problem, but you are experiencing a bug; along with many other users. There's a subtle but huge difference. You will not be having a problem until the total file count approaches 100, such that you are prevented from uploading new files.

We have just changed the wording on this error message to say "Error 1005 - Extra unexpected files uploaded for this character." This should help clear up some of the confusion with that error message.

Just an update.

I seem to have my main character updating correctly now. The profile diagnostics page says no errors. And she's actually, really up to date :)

Here's how *I* did it.

1. Deleted ALL of my characters (on this social site) -- this will not delete any of your game information, so don't worry.

2. Deleted my screenshots ... I deleted ALL of them, but they didn't actually all delete. These are still available in you My Documents folder, and you won't lose them.

Played game

Changed one inventory item

saved game

Waited.

Actually, come to think of it, the other difference was the fact that I launched the game from the DA Launcher, and not directly from the DA executable. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
