Red Wedding's the only right way to wed. Otherwise I hope my games will be weddingless unless there's a damn good plot-related reason for a ceremony to happen.

Yep, mods are there to serve the needy. A toolset and a herd of mod-savvy fanfiction writers would make everybody happy. No need to make us anti-wedding folk all grumpy.

It's easy to forget how pretty some of the DA:O environments where after playing DA2. You should watch the Cullen/Amell wedding, the environment they used for that is stunning.

Don't see the point , you will get your scene then things will go on the same as before. Having the world acknowledge you are married is an expense with no real return. It's not like say Harvest Moon, where marriage and childbirth fundamentally alter the gameplay side of things (your wife and kids help out around the farm).Since marriage is otherwise basically a fantasy of the player, it's best left in the players head.

I find there are a few issues with something like a wedding cutscene. It would be something only that particular romance gets, so that's one extra cutscene if you pick that romance but if you opted for one of the others... you're losing out on a cutscene for that romance. That's not really fair for those who don't like romancing that particular character. Content should be shared between them.

It would also bring up the issue of how the married couple would address one another after the wedding. Sebastian never refers to Hawke as 'wife' or in any term of endearment outside of the Legacy DLC. So that would be additional content others might miss out on with their romances.

If there are weddings included in the future, I personally think it would work better as being part of a plot. For example, a political alliance which doesn't intrude on our actual romances but gets a faction on our side... or our character crashing a wedding and having an awkward conversation with their companions/romances about how they don't want to get married. :P

So Bioware, i ask you to please consider adding in a wedding scean next time characters get hitched.

How do you even know that people usually have big formal public weddings in Thedas?  There was one (actually, two at once) in Origins if you do the City Elf Origin, and it was a pretty modest affair, probably only as big as it was due to the way the elves live.  Their marriages are often arranged and involve several people traveling a fair distance, to avoid the alienages becoming seriously inbred.

Insisting on grafting modern cultural practices onto a fantasy realm gets kind of silly after a while.

Now, if they decided that a wedding scene of some kind would be a fun addition to the story, I'd like to see them do, say, a big dwarven wedding where important members of major clans are joining families.  That would actually be interesting.

just a small 30 second cut scene is all i would require, even shorter would be ok.

My favourite romances tend not to be ones that are interested in marriage anyway.

If they did go this route though, then I would hope they wouldn't make it identical to a real life wedding. That would be such a waste of imagination.

I like scripted games because if they want to do something, it doesn't look rushed and crappy.

A marriage scene in a game where marriage is important to the story is going to look much better than an RPG scene almost every time.

Fable III has shown this.

I'm cool with in-game marriage, as long as it actually serves some kind of purpose OTHER than making fangirls squee.

I've played a lot of games where relationships/marriage is part of the game not just fanservice. Phantasy Star (SegaMegaDrive PS3 compilation), One of the early FireEmblems that never got an English release (new one should though and that has the same mechanic), Harvest Moon I already mentioned and Agarest to name a few.

second that, too.. or would that make it third? :)

I'm generally not that keen on marriage and weddings so I don't really want to marry my LI. The only one I wanted to marry was Alistair since it was the only way I could stay with him while him being king (and I didn't want to break the bloodline). When I found out, he'd dump my sorry elven arse anyway, I eloped in glorious Wardenry.

So I, too, prefer the no-wedding scenario. I think it's far more romantic to ride off in the sunset together, staff and greatsword hand in hand *sighs longingly*

I'm positive on the idea PROVIDED that all people who want the wedding scene swear a binding oath and sign a contract written in blood and tears NOT to complain about the dress/apparel worn in the ceremony, or the language/vows made, choice of flowers, or whatever other little detail might arise from the developers trying to make it for you.

Otherwise, I'm neutral or against the idea. ;)

It would just be another boring "catholic with the serial number filed off" ceremony. I watch people do that in real life. If there was something interesting to learn about Ferelden culture through it (ie it wasn't a Western European clone ceremony), that might be a different story.

No way.  We totally like our racist terminology when it becomes so commonplace people don't even realize what they are saying.  Isn't it awesome?

well after the squeeing is done theres not much else afterwards. i like the idea of a marriage scene but only if i also get some extra content like extra dialouge throughout the game, quests and maybe some  alternate costumes.other  than that its really just for show
