OP, I'll agree with you there. You have just as much right to not be trolled/pulled off topic in your Christian thread as the GLBTTIQQA community does in its threads. Despite the fact that there have been several queer threads closed due to a troll explosion and the current one has had to endure dozens of pages worth of blatant homophobia, while your thread has only been subjected to some light ribbing and people talking about the Chinese vocabulary for dragons.

Jesus won't save you from mission failure screens. Good players will, and you're disenchanting many of them with your (unintentionally) bigoted thread. And a lot of non-Christians are good people, we're just unwilling to live our lives based on a guess of what might happen after we die.

However, a thread asking for gays is compeletely okay?
If I have to leave my religion out of the forums, then the gays should have to leave their beliefs out too.

There was absolutly nothing wrong with me wanting to find others who share my religion to play with.

haven't read most of the thread, honestly don't care much. but... just one thing. people aren't born with a religion, they are born in to it or willingly choose it ar some point of their life. sexual orientation on the other hand is neither a matter of choice nor socialization. and that's all i have to say to this.

PS: just sharing the best quote on religion and video games i heard in forever: "i'm a video game atheist. i do not believe in god mode." 

also, Shepard is Jesus. but that's another thread on another day.

How does being christian or not affects gaming experience? I mean absolutely no offence, just asking out of curiosity. One would think people of all religions/no religion would talk about pretty much the same stuff during the coop game.

I don't get those either. Well, I kinda get the gay one, if you don't want to hear **** every other minute. I have no problem with your post. I just think its funny as hell you would try and get a group of "like minded christians" together to shoot at aliens and people. You don't see the humor in that?


Just out of curiosity what exactly did you want from this? A group of people who say a blessing every time you shoot that lady phantom in the head?

For the same reason people run with gays, bi's, atheists, repubs/dems, ect. ect.
Different groups of people share common characterisitics with those in their group and feel comfortable playing with those that share their views/beliefs/orientation.
It might not make sense to you, but at the very least you should respect the OP for trying to find like-minded individuals like himself. And that should go for ALL threads that are looking for particular groups of people to play with as well, not just this one.

Haha, indeed. Christians are as likely to have a short fuse as the rest of us, they will just apologize later if they live up to their ideals. And vice versa - I suppose you're just looking for civilized people, who understand that funny looking guy with a gun on the screen is actually also a real person.

yes we are.  No one is perfect:)  Something may slip out every now and then when i get insta killed from behind for example...

thats your problem, you seperated the post, we have our goverments trying to remove religion from social public works (schools ect) so other faiths will feel at home but in turn destroys other religons - its all one big joke
ppl should realize mixing with other religions is just going to happen.

Yes born2begeator you're going to have to reword the first post A LOT like the gay thread did, and it's very common for the very first 10+ pages to be filled with passive aggressive comments. Just calmly explain your intentions and try to stop it  from becoming a flamewar and you should be fine.

Actually it was just a failed quotation from another post, but it was kind of funny when I saw it.

It's hard to put a finger on why a thread looking for Christian gamers should get picked on; in principle, you have just as much of a right to seek out ingroup gamers as anybody else.
Still, just reading the thread topic made my eyes roll a bit. Without going into too much detail about my own beliefs, feelings, background (Orthodox Jewish turned agnostic atheist, FWIW) basically labelling yourself .

Christians make for excellent troll-bait.
It's a combination of:
1) Stereotypical fervor of devout Christians.
2) The need to identify yourself as Christian when it's such a prevalent demographic, relative to something like atheists and LGBT.
3) The juxtaposition of Christian ideals and values with the environment and mentality of online gaming.

But like I said, you absolutely have a right to seek out like-minded gamers. Just trying to account for why this is the response you're getting.
