The Anderfels! I want to see the Grey Wardens fortress. Plus it seems like the stuff with the monarchy there could make for interesting story material.

I kind of like Ferelden.  I know, kind of lame, but what can I say?

I don't see why they couldn't have missions in more than one Kingdom/empire?

I'm a sucker for assassins so Antiva gets my vote.

Personally I'd like the sequel to play out more like a Mass Effect (1-2)...

A larger scope, multi-national crisis that is a truly immediate threat to all of Thedas.

Maybe multiple invasions across several fronts, instead of a single front Blight.

I'd like the option to travel to portions of several nations- Anderfels, Orlais, Antiva, Par Vollen or at least Rivain, and the Tevinter Imperium.

You could build the initial storyline around recruiting the "Dream Team" of warriors, mages, and rogues from across Thedas. This could include rounding up old members of the DA:O team (For those that survived or were kept on) and rounding up new characters.

Personally, I really want to see Val Royeaux, Antiva City, and Par Vollen.

One way to implement both Par Vollen and Val Royeaux would be to end the cease fire between the Qnari and the Andrastrian lands. Force the Warden to bring a cease fire between the two forces to fight the Blight. If Sten were still alive and respected the Warden from DA:O he could act as mediator for the Qunari with Leliana acting as a mediator for the Chantry.

Another option would be to have the Warden on a diplomatic mission to convince the Qunari leadership to sign treaties of aid with the Wardens and sign onto policies such as the Right of Conscription. Again if Sten survives DA:O he could play an interesting role here. If not a new Qunari companion could be introduced. This would give Bioware the opportunity to explore Qunari culture and lands more directly. If the Warden was a mage or brought mages along with them, this would further provide interesting story opportunities.

Lastly, if the Warden survives the Blight, the player has to make interesting choices as to the Wardens future plans. Like the Origin stories themselves the plans from the first game could provide alternate starting points for the Warden in Dragon Age 2.

Did you follow Sten? Start off in Rivain or Par Vollen. Did you follow Zevran? Start off with Zevran in Antiva. Were you a Dwarf that returned to Orzammar? Start off there or in Kal Sharok or the Deep Roads.

Anyhow long post but I find speculating and crafting stories to be fun.

The Free Marches: Not a single nation, but rather a loose collection of independent city-states that unite only when it is in the interests of each individual city state. The Free Marches are 'ruled' (using that term loosely) by an informal form of landsmeet that convenes infrequently and only during times of crisis.

Sounds like my family

Nevarra; and hopefully if the developers go that way, they will not rely on the million-times repeated topics about my country: there will be no "sevillanas", no "sangría", no "paella" and they will take some care on getting Catalan, Galician, Basque and some of the huge variety of accents existing in Spain.

And well, Nevarra is the land of the dragonslayers, so Flemeth will be scared to look for my returning pc there... :P

Orlais is also a nice option just because Kal Sharok (I really want to see why those dwarfs are "weird") is right there and very close to the Anderfels.

The ending hints at Orlais, with Morrigan heading west of the Frostbacks and all.  They'll probably find a way to get everyone that's needed there.

And that's what I'd like to see next anyway because I can't think of many games I've played that have been set in France.

You mean, aside from 90% (ass-pulled stat here, folks) of WW2 thematic games ?

Not that you'd ever meet *god forbid* any frenchman in such games...

If we HAD to pick only one instead of adding to the existing Ferelden, I'd go with Orlais with any other bordering neighbors to Ferelden and move around that way.

I still like the ideas people posted about just adding a zone each time to existing ones from the previous installment, building larger and larger games with each succession.

The deep roads, helping the dwarves push back the darkspawn and retake their lost thaigs and/or helping the elves find their lost city, Arlathan.

If not that, then anywhere that doesn't have the chantry as a ruling authority/major presence. Tevinter sounds interesting.

Anywhere but Orlais, for voice over reasons alone, no way in hell I want to listen to 1000 Isoldes for 40 hours.

Tevinter gets my vote.

OMG TEEE GANNN.  Agreed, I would like to visit but not have the game based there.  I would like to venture underground to the other dwarf city and possibly closer to the darkspawn origin.

Lol, I was scared to say this earlier because so many people seemed to want Orlais included Arl Foreshadow. But my god if I have to listen to Isolde-ites. Uggh.

As a former RP mother of a demonspawn in AD&D I think it would be fun to play out your character as Morrigans "Old God" child as they are thrust out into the world. No doubt she would choose some place secluded and bucolic to raise the child, perhaps among the Qunari since she admired them so much. Or raised by Morrigan and Uncle Daddy Sten. Then again that would be one messed up kid. It would be amusing though to play the chosen one or the possibly chosen one but unknown to youself. It's an old plot device but an amusing one nonetheless.

Ohh, I like that idea!

Or I want something Tevinter related. They still sound interesting. Maybe even let the pc be a Qunnari (spelling..) and play out the war between the two.

Rivain, The Anderfels, The Free Marches and Nevarra sound like they would be fun. I'd really like to go to Rivain first, because I think it would be interesting to see how those diverse cultures interact. And I wonder how they view magi: The chantry's and qunari's intolerance or the Dalish and Tevinter's acceptance?

I would think that it'd be set so that Kal-Sharok was the Dwarf start place. That'd mean setting it up near Anderfels, Orlais and Tevinter. Weisshaupt Fortress is pretty close too so that might figure in the same story. It also wouldn't be a stretch to include the island of Seheron, which is Qunari controlled I believe.

Orlais, with Par Vollen a close second. But really, does it have to be only one? Who knows what the geographic scope of the next game will be.

My thoughts exactly.

There's enough fodder here to keep DA:O going for a long, long time.

If Bioware is willing to expand not only known areas, but also new areas as well, would we, the fans, be as motivated?  I, for one, vote Yes!

I'd rather they allowed the current setting to die. Let the game world evolve. If all we're going to get is another game with another blight with another doomed PC.
