Ok so this might sound like a lost cause but i would really like to play The first Mass Effect on PS3. I know that on Mass Effect 2 there's a comic in the beginning giving a recap of what occurs in the first Mass Effect. But i really like the mass effect series, and i'd love to to play the first game. How and what could fans do with the similar idea? How can we convince the makers of mass effect. Would it take donations? I really want to play mass effect without buying a xbox 360, or on pc.

I'd love to for the same reason as a lot of others, just playing it on a bigger screen from a nice comfy living room chair (and no, I'm not in the market for an Xbox either). But all the old posts I've seen on this here say it is a lost cause. Thoughts seem to be that Microsoft had too many fingers in the ME1 pie to allow it to ever appear on their main console competitor. Reckon it'll be a very long wait, like a couple of Reaper cycles.

I had no idea about Microsoft being so involved in the first Mass Effect. But if something ever happens and its made for the PS3, id gladly buy it. I just hope it doesn't take forever.

It will never be done, I remember reading a similar thread supporting a remake of ME1 for the PS3 and a moderator locked the thread and said a remake or a port will never happen. I couldn't find the thread anywhere.

But why? Is it because they still own the rights to ME1? I've heard it numerous times, but wondering if this is true and the main motivator behind it.

They published and funded it.. look at the box art ...Microsoft has the rights to it http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2008/02/interview-shane/ . Its never going to happen. If you think about the first 3 Crash Bandicoot games, Sony published them and still re-releases them to this day, even though activision owns the IP, they control those 3 games, just like MS owns ME1. Youll get crazy people that say it can "cuz of teh Ninja gaidenz" but MS never published that.
