If it doesn't start, or is missing there, is more troubleshooting tips available in the Redeemed DLC sticky, section 3.2

However, be aware that this service performs more in the service of EA than authorize your DLC.

I moved my steamapps folder so it was necessary to modify the service path. The reg key on my system is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\SYSTEM\\\\ControlSet001\\\\Services\\\\DAUpdaterSvc
Modify the 'ImagePath' to point to the new location.

I have discovered if I log into the servers while I am in a game all my DLC's are authorized and everything is hunky dory.(if this helps anyone who is fed up as I am). If I log in at the main menu level and try to go into a game my DLCs are showing as unauthorized and Alistair turns up naked because the Warden Commander armor has disappeared. So after spending 6+ hours dicking around with this issue I quit. Will just log in during a game and be done with it. Am on PC too, think I will go play DAO on my xbox for a bit before I use my axe to cleave something.

Yes, running the daupdater service fixes this. You can even (at least to a certain extent, though I cannot say where the limit is) play offline as long as this service is running.

No it doesn't fix the problem. I've tried that already.

changing the registry path that spaceyjase posted is what fixed it for me, because I had uninstalled steam and reinstalled it to a different directory.
Mine isnt from Steam, do you know how to fix it for PC?

Edit: That is just standard PC, not through Steam and it's only been happening after the 1.04 patch. This patch seems to have caused a world of problems for me. I might just grab my saves and reinstall everything to patch 1.03.

- from main menu, check that you are logged in then select Downloadable Content
- wait for the Points Balance to be updated
- close panel
- click again Downloadable Content
- this time you should see your installed DLC on a green background and the Points Balance in update mode again
- wait for Points Balance to be updated
- close panel and load your saved game.
You only have to proceed this way on your first load after DA:O launch. Once this is done, you can directaly load games during the same session.

This is really irritating!! I cannot load my recent saved games. Funny thing is that some old saves from the same characters seems to work but they are days behind and I really do not want to start from there again! Also the saved games from my other character seems to work ok.
Any idea how to fix? Hopefully someone can help me. Although this should be Bioware / EA responsibility. They have made really crappy system in DLC.

What you might try to is instead of logging in at the main menu, log in while you are in active gameplay in your most recent saves. When I do this all my DLC's show up as authorized and enabled. (Except Lel's Song. In my case I can't get this one to work at all) If I log into the main screen and then go into a saved game I get the error message and can't go in at all. I have tried every suggestion to fix on the forum and nothing has worked. This is the only way I have found to get around this.
Unintall and reinstall have helped some but I don't want to go this route since I don't want to lose my high up characters. I have also emailed Bioward for suggestions and they gave me options that were the first things I did to try solving this problem so they were no help. So you might try my suggestion above and see what happens

My sincerest apologies for my rather heated post earlier, I was highly disappointed when I could not access my saved games due to the "unauthorized" DLC stuff, so I did some research, played with a few things and I believe I've nailed down the general issue.
For me, it turned out that it was my router settings. Once I fixed the port issues and made sure the proper ports were forwarded and everything had access that it needed, I reloaded the game and bam, everything was ready to go. I did notice that when I enabled the DMZ I actually had quite a bit of problems, but when I disabled it and did the port forwarding the right way, I was able to get the content just fine and everything was authorized.
Granted, this could simply be a matter of "coincidence" and I may have this problem tomorrow morning again, but atleast for the moment, I'm able to play and enjoy the game again.
