Oh, hey, nevermind ... there's a sticky post that says it's not EA or BioWare at all, it's me! I must have screwed up my login or my registering content or something. Ah. I feel so much better ... and much more authorized ... now.

I called EA today and they said it should be back up by Monday (great... just in time for the WORK WEEK).

Regardless, I pretty much chewed out the guy I got ahold of (Aaron) and told them I am expecting a full refund of the measly $5 I paid (Principle folks) for Return to Ostagar. He gave me all of Origins Ultimate for free, but everything is still unauthorized lol. I suggest everyone gets ahold of EA Games and asks for a refund at this point. Only way they're going to do anything is customers getting pissed asking for money back.

What a mindf**k the last 24 hours have been. I've spent enough money on sh*t RPG games in the last 12 months and finally i find one thats worthy of the late nights and bleary eyed mornings going to work and......now....this. I've only had the game for a week and i have to say what a great game!!, only a game this good would get people so mad about not being able to play it, it's all i've been able to think about at work. So on the 1 day off i get all week it would have been nice to create some sort of **** groove in my chair and get my Dwarf a little closer to some sort of relationship with a certain female Mage that he's been playing sugar daddy to. BUT NOOOO, Dreams have been shattered and love lies dormant, swimming in the sweet caress of bourbon soaked tears, OH GOD What was her name... i'm sure it started with an M.. Ma..Mol.. Mor... mmmm. Oh when will they patch this blunder i understand they want to stop the piracy but honestly do i have to log in EVERYTIME i want to play my OFFLINE NON-MULTIPLAYER game. AARRGGHH i have started again with a lovely female elven rogue that will have to suffice till i can once again draw blood with my Dwarven brawler... sips drink looking far off into the distance...sniff... it's just...not the same anymore... things... change...

Here is how I got my content back. switched updater to automatic, shut off the service, restarted the comp, then went back in to restart the service. double checked to be sure the service is on auto. I hope this will get some of you back in the game.

oh, how wonderful, if I had not re-installed my game I could play on offline...?!! But now I am condemned to something I had never experienced even with WOW where you could get an certain solution in around 24-48 hours and until then you could even play with some workarounds...
But now there are some of my purchased dlcs not shown at start and therefore I cannot start my old save in which I was sooo succesful with my dwarven alter ego...*sigh* And now I got the information that I could play on offline without re-installing everything...Too Late for me...
And I have still bought DA II but not Awakening and therefore I will not buy anything more...sry, but it seems that EA lost a certain customer with me because I always bought any Soccer Manager every two years, but now no never no more...

Last time I'll mention this. The techs at EA have nothing to do with BioWare's servers. That's like yelling at the guy at Wal-Mart that the washing Machine you purchased isn't running super quiet. You're yelling at the wrong person. EA is a studio and publishing company, but they are not the studio for Dragon Age, Dragon Age 2 or Mass Effect 2. BioWare is. So abusing EA techs despite their best efforts is childish, ignorant, and wrong. If the steps in the forums or that the tech gives you don't work, do you honestly think yelling at someone who is so far removed from the development of the game will actually fix things? Grow up my friends. Patience is a virtue. If troubleshooting doesn't work, hmmm.. could it be BioWare servers?

Something to think about next time you get some tech support person on the phone or whatever, and go off like a petulant child.

Carry on.

I would like to think that by now EA would at the least be aware of this issue.

Now while I never would condone verbal abuse of a staff member who is really just doing what they're told and have no control over the current problems it makes sense that EA's tech support should probably by now have been briefed on how to deal with customers asking questions about the the complete and utter failure of the online service of one of their games.

I mean, is throwing out some random solutions that they know full well are not going to work REALLY the best they can do after, what is it now, 2 days?

You know, just something to think about.

Could EA or BIOWARE update all the gamers what they are actually doing to fix this problem in a repeating method on the forum so that we are all understand what the problem was and when the fix will be in effect?? This DLC problem is causing many gamers to do unorthodox things just to play a game so they can have fun. Maybe the DLC algorithim or whatever programming needs to be rewritten. Maybe EA or BIOWARE need to send out a CD with correction of this problem? a download?
Everyone likes this game, but if this keeps happening, I suspect it will get shelved and no one will buy BIOWARE games if this is a continuing issue.
Please fix this soon and permanently EA or BIOWARE.

I disagree with this being minor issue for Bioware/EA. Everyone who just bought DA:Ultimate are getting broken game (it looks ecatly like this if you don't see this forum). That's a very bad user experience from Bioware/EA that can affect future purchases.

i agree with sakudayo, because of this and the lack of update from bioware/EA, i'm thinking about not buying mass effect 3 and such

For the record, I've had DA:O since it was released and am now having my CE unauthorized, as well as the rest of my DLC (Stone Pris, Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar) listed in the tab to purchase DLCs.

This is my unhappy panda face. :(

Ive been having all the unauthorized problems as you all have. I spent about 5 hours trying to figure this crap out. Then, I just logged out, loaded my save and it worked. Makes absolutely no sense.

I agree also. It shows what kind of company Bioware is. It's almost like they simply can't be bothered to work over the weekend for an old game such as origins. That is no excuse though, if the Warcraft3 servers went down you could bet your ass that Blizzard would work through the night to get them back up within a matter of hours.

At this point I believe we are past the 70 hour mark, and that is simply ridiculous. Mass Effect 3 was my most anticipated game of the year, but let me thell you If this problem is not solved by tomorrow night I will swear off Bioware for good and not purchase any of their future games if we can expect more of this horrendous service.

Yeah...I was looking at getting DA2 after completing all of DA:O UE..

However, if this weekend is an example of the level of care for their customers BioWare and EA have, I'm not too sure I want to spend anymore money on either one of them. When your DRM system lets the pirates continue to use your software while locking out legitimate purchasers, something has gone horribly wrong. Sure, their later products don't use this system, but they should have, at the least, unlocked the DLC from requiring a connection to their servers or patched in a different DRM system in a patch. I don't want to go and dust this game off in a couple years only to find they shut down the auth servers, denying me ever after access to content I paid them for.

It's ridiculous, and I agree. But I love ME and DA not to buy their next instalments, even if it means dealing with this kind of support.

Don't know that I'd be that quick to go that far, since sometimes a server may decide to excrete a solid gold mountain of crap and getting the mess sorted out may take a while. Especially if said blowout happens at a time when there's a skeleton crew of tech support available.

That said, the response to this incident has by no means been competent. These forums are about as official a customer interaction interface as they have, so Bioware could have posted an announcement about a general problem and left it at that.

Though given the number of exact duplicate threads about this same subject matter (dozens) makes me think that it wouldn't have much mattered anyway since it's clear that people post before they think and before they even bother to look whether the issue is already being discussed.

However, until people went to talk to them, they were silent about the issue and have yet to POST about it to even feign support of their customers.

That's what I was referring to...

This here is the exact reason that I uninstalled Company of Heroes and refuse to reinstall or upgrade it... The chance that this will happen and have the company controlling the server seem as equally uninterested in even mentioning it to their customers.

No solutions provided by the community work for me. Best to wait, then? I don't care if it'll take a bit of time honestly, I have other games to play, but, is this even on the radar to be worked on?
