Ever since I've been able to play as a Batarian in ME3 MP, I've become extremely interested in the Batarian Race and history. So, I started writing a story on one of the more interesting, gray areas.

The Leviathan of Dis.

Plot:
Taking place about a week before the opening scenes of Mass Effect 3; the story follows Korrak, a member of the Batarian Hegemony's Special Intervention Unit. The science team leading research into the Leviathan of Dis, a great and powerful alien artifact, has gone dark. Now, Korrak has been tasked with recovering them…alone. Korrak must struggle with vague mission parameters, his feelings for the Hegemony, an unexpected ally, and voices creeping at the back of his mind.

Rating:
T - Some violence, gore, and language throughout.

The series is currently ongoing, I will update this post each time a new chapter is added.

Part I

Part II

Part III

Part VI

I should probably create a fanfiction.net profile to host these. Deviant isn't bad, but, I know not everyone has an account there.

I hope you enjoy!

So, yeah.

If you follow any news regarding the Mass Effect series as I do..you know that Bioware has officially announced their rumored "Leviathan" Single Player DLC.
It appears to be hitting the digital download scene sometime this late summer at a reasonable price of $10 (that's 800 Microsoft Points for any Xbox Players). Now, for anyone following my current fan fiction; The Fall of Khar'shan..you know that the Leviathan itself is an intricate part of the story. It is supposedly the force that cripples the Batarian's Home World and ushers in the Reaper threat - making the Batarians the first species to be attacked by the Reapers themselves prior to Mass Effect 3.

When the rumors of this content first came out, I was cautiously optimistic.
I knew this would change things for my future plans in Korrak and Mannovai's story.

Now, unsurprisingly, I'm a little hesitant to start typing away at the next chapter.
That does not mean I won't be finishing it, however.[/b]

I'm worried the conclusion I have planned will not have a place/make sense in what ends up being truly canon after this DLC launches.
For instance: what are the Leviathan's motives? It appears it's a Reaper acting on its own accord, rumored to have even destroyed another Reaper. Was this an act of retaliation? Does it no longer wish to be apart of The Cycle? If that is the case, why did it cripple Khar'shan? These are all very interesting points. Critical points and background for the Reapers that I felt was sorely lacking in Mass Effect 3 itself (rushed production, etc).

Rather than seeing this incoming content as the 'nail in the coffin' for my fan fiction of sorts; I see this as an excellent opportunity.

I plan to release at least one more chapter of 'The Fall of Khar'shan' before the DLC is available.
After that, however, I will take some time to gather my thoughts and ensure my story becomes a fitting prequel to the events that eventually occur in Mass Effect 3.

I thank you for your patience and hope you check back! I appreciate you giving my story a chance.
And, remember, I'm not done yet!
