You missed the point entirely.

The problem was not the fact that the krogan had technology, it was the fact they had bad cultural attitudes. Bad attitudes gave way to them using technology in a bad way.

If you think technology is a terrible thing, why do you use a computer? Go live in a teepee if that's so much better.

So now your using real life to the game. I am using what is in ME, and not real life.

Okay I was playing my Krogan home world mission again, and Eve's speech was just epic, and this is another reason why i think Destroy is the best with or with out IT, and the others ( well maybe not refuse) are plan wrong.

Eve " You can stay here and let old wounds fester as Krogan have always done.... or you can fight the enemy you were born to Destroy...... and win a new future for our children. I choose to fight. Who will join me?"

Shepard: " I will."

Wrex : "And so will I. Now hold your heads high like true Krogan! There is a Reaper that needs killing!"

Hell in Destroy we fight for a future for the children of the future, and maybe in refuse to, but in Destroy Shepard/ us choose to fight. Refuse is like a give up and hope for the best. Also hell Shepard agrees that " I WILL FIGHT!"

Also in the video, Eve tells Shepard/ the player that Eve: " We had dreams...a future to look forward to." Mordin talks, then Eve: " No we destroyed Tuchanka ourselves. Technology changed us. It made life to easy."

Synthesis life is very easy.

Control life is easy.

Destroy life is hard.

Refuse life is very hard, but not sure on this ending.

Here is the video

Also what Eve says about staying here, is like refuese, so ya Destroy for the win.

www.youtube.com/watch

Garrus:"And Shepard. Forgive the insubordination, but this old friend has an order for you. Go out there and go give them hell. You were born to do this."

Eve "Or you can fight the enemy you were born to Destroy."

If you want to talk about Garrus quotes:

"You're a peacemaker, Shepard. A rare thing these days. Now if you'll pacify the Reapers, we'll make you a saint".

You do realize he was joking, and to hell would he let Shepard pick Synthesis. I can pull more qoutes, Conversations, then you can.

All of which would be irrelevant because they all think the only option is to destroy the Reapers.  At the end of the day, what non-omnicient characters say means very little in this argument.  All we know is their opinion.  Opinionsdon't prove a damn thing.

"Then we have Synthesis and Idon't even know where to start. We've been
fighting forced transhumanism for three games now. It spits in the face
of the themes of working out our differences, self determination against
fatalism, the socio-technological balance, and diversity. It alters all
life in the galaxy under the assertion that there is something
fundamentally wrong with us. It's beyondcynical...

This is again a
recurring theme with unfortunate implications. The Reapers see
themselves as the final evolution of life. Saren has been mentioned
enough, but the Illusive Man is forcing transhumanism to bring humanity
to the "apex of evolution", in his own words. The Collectors and the
Zha'Til are examples of Reapers fusing man and machine, and then
altering their genetic material at the deepest level to form something
new. Pretty much your entire squad in Mass Effect 2 tells you rewriting
the heretics is the same as killing them..."

In a perverse way, yeah, they are trying to help actually.  In a way many describe as nonsensical and stupid, but they are.  That's what preserving life in Reapers is for.  Yes they commit countless atrocities, but this is due to a directive millions of years old that they cannot disobey until its conditions are filled.  There cannot be malice without free will.

If you're suggesting that I believe the Catalyst over Shepard's friends I don't.  I just realize that my friends can't act on knowledge they don't have.

Top Ten :

I) Indoctrination in general :

Regarding IT, Shepard is in the process of indoctrination and the outcome is decided by the final decision taken.

The concept of indoctrination is a crucial part throughout the trilogy and nothing new to the player (link 1and 2).

Rana Thanoptis is an example of how subtle and slow indoctrination can be.

Shepard knocked out for two days by a Reaper artifact that indoctrinated an entire facility.

Logs on the derelict Reaper illustrate the reactions of victims of indoctrination.

Paul Grayson's indoctrination show its effects on someone's mind.

Harbinger's smacktalk (link 1 and 2).

List of in-game reasons:

1) The Breath Scene :
- London rubble
- Mako in the background
- Citadel explosion

2) The Kid :
- teleportation in Vancouver
- opens a door that is marked as locked
- survives blast
- not seen by anyone else
- warning symbols

3) The Dreams :
- dream sequences and post-beam sequence share the same game mechanics
- reality-nonreality transition after beam shot (post-beam, dreams, Geth Consensus)
- oily shadows and whispering
- nightmares are mentioned in the Arrival by subjects being indoctrinated
- Chambers and Asari having PTSD as comparison between PTSD & Shepard's dreams

4) The Citadel :
- resembling events of the past
- Coats dead on the Citadel

5) Anderson & TIM :
- how did Anderson follow Shepard?
- how can Anderson reach the control first?
- why did no one else follow Anderson?
- from where did TIM shows up?
- Anderson addressing Shepard ("They are controlling you!")
- Shepard being dominated by TIM and thus through him by the Reapers
- Anderson's wound (link 1 and 2)
- Reaper horn played in the background (at 1/2 speed)

6) Leviathan :
- Harbinger/the Reapers perfected enthrallment to indoctrination
- enthrallment uses memories of its victim
- similarities between Leviathan end and decision chamber
- zap sound as a sign to enter/leave virtual reality (link 1 and 2)
- note the file name of the sixth murder that can be found in Bryson's lab

7) The Choices :
- Shepard on his knees happened only during/after some mind control
- the Guardian is aligned to the Reapers
- Control and Synthesis being supported by indoctrinated characters
- a swap in the colours (TIM = Paragon; Anderson = Renegade)
- huskification during Control/Synthesis vs. Shepard gaining strength while shooting the tubes
- Guardian losing it when you refuse ("SO BE IT!")
- decision chamber looks like a dialogue wheel from an aerial view
- decision chamber resembling beam
- ambiguous end dialogue (Control/Synthesis)
- slide shows in Control/Synthesis/Destroy illustrate future possibilities, not facts that already happened
- soldiers in Destroy fighting fiercely while in Control/Synthesis they are losing (on a side note: no cheering in Synthesis)

8) The Beam Run :
- Harbinger pin-pointing everyone and everything but Shepard
- Harbinger not destroying the Normandy
- Shepard surviving the blast that one-shots Makos and Gunships
- Harbinger leaving

9) The Guardian :
- has the same shape as the kid (extraction of Shepard's memories)
- speaks with femshep's and broshep's voice
- Harbinger's line in the MP trailer (link 1 and 2)

List of meta-reasons :

1) IT is as valid as a literal interpretation

2) new game in the MEU :
- prequel with humans would only have the First Contact War as topic
- prequel without humans would alienate a big part of the fanbase
- prequel in a previous cycle is like a whole new universe
- any prequel would have an already known ending
- a game during the events of ME1-ME3 would not be able to have any choices with impact
- Control has no real conflict potential, since we have Shreaper/Harpard
- Synthesis has no real conflict potential, since everything is nice and dandy
- Refuse has no real potential
- this only leaves Destroy as possible candidate as canon

Have a nice day.

I am not going to hyper link everything, but here is the site that has all of this, and everything that is hyperlinked.

The Control thread has made a sig out of it to support their cause.

Like it or not, the foreshadowing in that quote is very credible. The fact it was meant as humor makes it qualify for a very common literary technique known as irony, something that usually goes hand-in-hand with foreshadowing.

I mean, it's far more credible than IT trying to draw conclusions out of a trailer for multiplayer, anyway...

@masster blaster

Your too vocal "IT" promotions in support threads are one of the reasons why more and more people become to take "IT"ers as nothing more but an annoyance.

This thread is about Synthesis as it is in game, not about "something that didn't really happen". "IT" posts are off-topic here. Wanna discuss "IT" nonsense? Do it in your large thread, please.

your erase everyone mind in Synthesis. Why isn't Javik killing Reapers,

Reapers lie, they cheat, and they are manipulative to the core.

Because human's don't lie, cheat or manipulate events to their own advantage? People make livings lying, cheating and manipulating.

No actually. If you look into some pages prior to you came in, there are a lot of non-synther folks on this thread, and we have decent discussions with them. But barging in on a thread and deciding to enlighten us, fervishly believing anything and everything in the game points towards Destroy ending; believing there is a great conspiracy behind the curtains... I'm sure that makes you look like a genius.

How would you know? We barely got to see Javik for a second or two during the epilogue. How would you know what he is doing or not doing, in all his post-synthesis time, based on those two seconds?

And I'm sure Javik said all synthetics are evil and should be killed as soon as they start talking. But that didn't stop him from collaborating with synthetics in Shepard's team. people change, their perspectives evolve. Nothing is set in stone.

And lastly, no one is "bowing down to reapers" in synthesis. That's YOUR view of things.
