Let's analyze that quote. Yes, they are part of me, as well as our galactic society, but they are not part of pre-spaceflight civilizations. Therefore, who am I to impose Synthesis on those species?

Yes, Ieldra is in fact evil. 

But I think the dialouge is actually really interesting. He spoke about it once. You'll have to ask him about it.

Fun tip. I saved all the crew and got all of Legions Dialogue. Simply save Project Overlord and LotSB until after the suicide mission. After each mission he'll have something new to say.

Also, you can get his Loyalty mission done before the crew is kidnapped. Do every squadmates loyalty mission before getting the IFF. Once you have the IFF don't do anything but turn on Legion in the Ship. Don't talk to anyone and don't acess the galaxy map.  Once you talk to him for the first time and the converstion ends, talk to him again. He'll give you his loyalty mission and the game will let you complete his mission without triggering the abduction event on the Normandy.

There's special dialogue you get if you exhaust all of Legion's dialogue pre-SM that clarifies the nature of the Reapers.

It's the one where he says a Reaper is "Transcended flesh. Billions of organic minds, uploaded and conjoined in an immortal machine body. 'Each a nation'."

As far as I know, to get that you must get to the conversation about the geth's Dyson sphere pre-SM.

Yeah, I think I remeber him saying that to my Shepard post SM. So I was somehow able to save everyone in my crew and get that dialogue.

I guess that's an adept description, but victims of the Borg can be rescued and disconnected from the collective, see Picard and Seven of Nine. Only way to save an indoctrinated person is to cap them. Otherwise they're shrivelled drooling shells of themselves. Or Cyborg puppets, or corpse puppets. One of the three.

Beucase it's kind of blasphemous to proclaim one's self as a 'god', and because if Shepard controls the Reapers, then say goodbye to his/her humanity forever.

Then again, you can't apply morality to a machine's solution. The Cataylst gives you cold, hard logic and isn't programed to observe things from a human/organic perspective. It kind of sucks.

Safe? Relatively spoken, maybe, but read the first few pages. Things were rather ugly for a time after this thread first came up.

It was interesting. I made this thread about a month or two before the EC came out. People came here and said my interpretation was all headcanon. Then the EC came out and validated significant aspects of my interpretation, and rather than back off, half of the same people came back and said everyone was brainwashed and the EC epilogue slides were a mask hiding an uglier truth.

Plainly, "Synthesis is bad" is not a conclusion but a dogma for those people.

I read the OP and you have the synthesis ending really well laid out. How much time did you put into it? You have my respect.

He put a lot of effort into it (He reformatted it once the EC was released) and he has had my respect for a long, long time for it.

I just wish he realized that.

Thanks. Someone on my first Synthesis thread asked me once why I put so much effort into it, given the ***** endings (that was before the EC). I told him it was my way to save the trilogy for me, to make it possible to take something interesting away from the ending. Not that Bioware's ME3 team was a great deal of help in making sense of things. The EC is really nice, but I'll never understand why they didn't take the opportunity to remove the contradictions in the Synthesis exposition. It's mind-boggling.

So, here is my general wish list:
- Sequel (500 years or so after ME3 events).
- ME3 save import feature.
- ME3 events reconstruction feature (interactive comic for those, who have no ME3 save).
- True sci-fi, deep, and instructive story built around difficult moral choices.
- Unique and impressive game's atmosphere.
- Best electronic music ever.
- Top-end game engine.
- Even more realistic and beautiful environments, characters, and dialogue scenes.
- It should be trilogy (each part should have save import feature, just like diferent parts of Mass Effect).
- It should be RPG with advanced cover-shooter combat system (just like in ME3).

And here is my specific additional wish list:
- Matriarch Liara as a captain of reconstricted/modified Destiny Ascension, and main good NPC for the entire trilogy.
- Matriarch Liara uses captain position as a cover, because she is still the Shadow Broker.
- Destiny Ascension as a new "Normandy" for all three parts of the entire trilogy.
- Shepard's Asari doughter as one of the possible protagonists (locked for players without proper ME3 save).
- Environment and background described here.
- Possible name of the new trilogy: Mass Shift.
- Implemented Dark Energy plot.
