I was serious about of those group names.

Du Riechst So Gut translates to "You smell so good" so that's out. Bonus points to the people who got the Queen reference.

Why not simply call it "I Am Alive-Synthesis Support Group"

Yes? DO IT IELDRA. DO IT.

I'd love to see a sequel with a new protagonist (maybe some kind of "origin" stories), but the endings make an ordinary sequel impossible (imo)...and I hope they don't canonize an ending. I have no interest to play in a "synthesis" galaxy, and I suppose most people here wouldn't appreciate a "destroy" galaxy ^_^

Indeed, I wouldn't want a canon ending either, be it Synthesis. I have saves from all three choices and would love to see how the galaxy takes a different path based on our choices. Besides, we shouldn't be forced into an ending we don't like.. ;)

Unfortunately some destroy supporters maintain that since the majority picked destroy, they should just canonize it. It is to them that I say I hope BioWare canonizes Synthesis!

I think it would be best if there was no sequel, but if they make one, I don't think pseudo-canonizing one ending can be avoided. A unifying scenario would make ME3's final choice irrelevant, which would ****** off just about everyone. Likely, they'll spin it this way:

"We choose to continue a variant of the ME universe where Shepard chose X at the end of M3. Those variants where he chose something else are valid, but we (can't/don't want to) set our new story there."

And really, they'd have a point. The final choice constrains the kind of stories that can take place in the post-ME3 galaxy. As annoying as it is to have to admit it, but a post-Synthesis universe appears to be most problematic, not only because it's so difficult to imagine in detail, but also because it's decidedly non-mainstream. I think Casey Hudson might want to set a game in such a future, but it's a lot of work to make it functional *and* popular enough, and since mainstream appeal is such a big factor for marketing, I'm not sure I'd want to see the result anyway.

@Taboo:
That name won't work for me. It reminds me that the ending treats synthetics as if they hadn't been really alive before.

Edit:
What's with this visitor from an alternate reality?

Yes one of the principles of Vitalism says that certain things do NOT possess soul energy and are not alive.

In this case it's Synthetics. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE AESTHETICS.

There was a really ****ty film from Taiwan called Green Green Grass of Home. You could call it Green Green Mass of Bodies.

Just kidding. If you'd like to be fabulous you CAN name it after that Queen song. Also not srs...

I don't have the links saved, sorry. I just searched FFN for all ME-universe fanfics with "Synthesis" in the title or description, and looked through them one by one. I guess there must be a few more now.

Thanks, Seival. I'll read it later. I have also renamed the group you gave me. Not sure if there's anything that can't be discussed in this thread, but things in a slower-moving group have a longer life and things don't get lost so easily.

No problem Posted Image

I like the new name. Synthesis is infinite possibilities not just in terms of imagining what could happen after that ending. Synthesis is the perfect ground to expand Mass Effect Story (to create a new trilogy for example).

I couldn't agree more. The other two endings would be more of the same, but Synthesis literially rewrites life. I can't wait to see what that galaxy looks like!

High EMS Destroy can technically be seen as a big ass EMP Blast.

If BW aims for a story that's at least on the same scale as the Reaper conflict then how are they going to make something that's not extremely cheesy? It'd probably be better if the story was a small scale like you're a merc and you have to bring down another merc organization that rivals your own.
