Shepard got lasered to the point where his armor blew off! Is it that implausible that he'd be bleeding from it?

Actually it would be plausible that he'd be DEAD after being lasered to that point. Unless you're saying that there was also a tiny Harby laser that poked a little hole in Shep's side.

Already did. SWtOR. Entirely incomplete. Furthermore, KotOR 2 was also entirely incomplete. Didn't sell as much tho.

MMOs are almost never released with the story complete. KotOR 2 was made my Obsidian, so it doesn't really effect this discussion.

This little fragment cannot be dismissed as lazy design/writing on BioWare's part.

I'm beyond giving Bioware the benefit of the doubt.

Again,
I'll point out that if Bioware did do it this way, it's worse than
flat-out bad writing. Because it means Bioware sold millions of copies
of an incomplete game.

I hate to burst your bubble, but Bioware didn't make Kotor 2.

Quite frankly, that's better than the alternative.

At first I thought it was odd, but then I noticed Shepard is holding his side the entire time... So now I really don't know what to think of it.

Just because marauder shields doesnt shoot him there doesnt mean shepard cant have been hit by a stray bullet from the hundreds of enemies shooting at him... the wound was just meant to show that shepard was on death's door and had very little time left.

I dont think Bioware need to spell out every little detail like where he was shot, was it a cannibal or a marauder or friendly fire? was it a widow, or a carnifex? who cares? He got shot, and is dying... thats it. We're just putting a little too much thought into this... Bioware would not go into such painstaking detail

Hey look, I realize that IT is grasping at straws and probably giving BioWare way too much credit. Still, it's fair to say that BioWare HAS been going into amazing "painstaking" details throughout the whole trilogy. Like ocular flashbangs. Or explaining little bugs with Conrad Verner (when he apologises for accusing Shep of shoving a gun in his face when he did not). Attention to detail was always big in ME. That's one.

And two, there is also a strong gameplay and story segregation in ME series. So cutscene wound =/= gameplay wound. Usually.

Yeah, but people have reason to believe it wasn't from that shot.
1: Marauder Shields shot you in the right shoulder, not left side of your body.
2: He suddenly starts bleeding when Anderson dies, he doesn't bleed excessively before hand for some reason.

It's a narrative device to show Shepard is dying.

Well, that's something you can call lazy development very easily. "OK look we don't have to create any new textures, we can just reuse these from something completely irrelevant."

Those are there before Harby beams you in the face. I reckon the armour colouring is just a nostalgia trip. :P

that's true it could be lazy development, but why would they put them there, it's so out of place. not that many things are in place in that whole end sequence the whole last 10 minutes is so trippy it makes my head spin.

maybe same reason they photoshopped tali's face. Bioware: ARTISTIC INTEGRITY! *smacks you*

What do you mean by the whole time? Because he doesn't hold that side when he's limping. His left hand is just flailing around, and in his right hand he's holding the infinite ammo gun.

Shepard also babies it a bit in the Citadel.

Wait, the bullet wound trick was from Fight Club?

Oh dear, maybe someone mentioned it in one of the thousandfivehundred pages of IT thread but until this day how did the majority of us missed it?

And the face import bug, and the heads twisted around completely in conversation, and horrible editing during conversations and cutscenes, and the lack of a working questlog...

There are some awesome moments in the game, but it was unpolished as a whole. I can't believe something that badly done (the ending) was done on purpose when all the other glaring faults in the game were accidental.

You know, I'm shocked someone else noticed this besides me. When two NPC's are talking, NPC #1 says something and then the camera cuts to NPC #2, who has mysteriously vanished from the screen. It looks like NPC #1 is talking to a dawm ghost. It's spooky, not because it looks like something out of The Sixth Sense, but because this game is so dawm unpolished. Everytime I bring it up, nobody responds back to me about it.

Correction: the infinate ammo gun that uses the wrong reload animation. Just putting that out there.

This so badly, people take every little accident during the ending as evidence of IT.

The whole take back earth fight seems like it was done sloppy, and got worse as it went along, at the end of it you were basically playing horde mode multiplayer by yourself the enemy spawns were so sloppy and bland.

You'd think the climax of the entire series, the battle for earth would have more to it. Imagine if you were able to fight alongside npc geth/krogan and salarians instead of just soloing hordes of enemies with your squad. Hell there wasn't even a psuedo vechicle section like there was on rannoch.

Basically when I think of IT and all of there evidence ,I ask my self weither or not said evidence couldn't be just sloppy workmenship on eawares part. And I have to say a resounding yes to all of it.

Yeah i get that... but the gunshot wound is something i personally feel people read too much into...
And there is a gameplay-cutscene segregation, but that wound could have been caused when shepard got hit by the beam also. The wound is there just to show hes gonna die...

Part of my skepticism comes admittedly due to the fact that the same Bioware who usually put great detail into the mass effect games tore it down in 10 minutes, but lets not go there. If they screwed up something as massive as the ending to their most-loved franchise this gen, they could have screwed up the marauder shields shot... maybe he was supposed to shoot is stomach, and that little detail just got overlooked... in all probability thats what happened

*ding ding ding ding ding*

It's just a way to indicate Shepard refocusing on the fact that he's bleeding out from the wound he's had since the beam. Faced with his mortality.

This. I'm not against IT or the idea that the ending is some kind of dream/hallucination (possible from lack of blood or bc Shepard is dying even? Who knows!). It's arguable that Shep's wound mirrors Anderson's is a weird coincidence, but Shep got freaking blown up by a Reaper blast before going up the light chute, not to mention being shot at by the Marauders. He/she limped the whole way to try and get to the light while already ripped to shreds and clutching his/her side.

Of course not. IT is the only possible truth, don't yow know? ^^

Shields shot Shepard in the arm.
