Only now as I'm doing my...ehrm...fourth and most likely final ME2 run I learn that, when doing ONE mission before going through the Omega 4 relay, 50% of the crew die. I never actually realized it, I guess I thought that 50% die no matter what.

So this time I'm planning on going through the relay without helping Legion. I still plan on sending Legion into the ducts thought and I wonder if that may result in repercussions for the rest of the team.

When the specialist dies does it have any consequences for the rest of the team, provided each of them is loyal (check) and provided I choose the right crewman for the right task (check)? Or is his fate just his own?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

If your specialist dies then that person can obviously not hold the line later, and you will not get them in ME3. It does not negatively impact the rest of the team, however ME3 consequences can be large.

However, IF you complete every other mission before going to the derelict reaper, and then IMMEDIATELY activate legion before going to the galaxy map, you should be able to complete his loyalty mission. I have personally done this every time, and even done Tali + Legion's loyalty missions before crew gets kidnapped.

The timer for 50% of crew dying starts only after the crew actually gets kidnapped.

Hope this helps.

I know that he will be missing in ME3 and I also know that this will shape the whole Geth-Quarian-situation in ME3 in a different way, with no positive outcome possible for both sides.

But...that's actually my aim here. :D My Shepard, though kinda a decent person, will never tolerate the Geth. And I wanna shape her approach starting in ME2. So Legion will die, but it has to make sense, too. And I don't want to loose anyone else in the progress. That's why I asked.

Also, not having Legion in the line is actually a good thing when I understand it correctly. The line is strengtened by any strong soldier-type NPC, and weakened by any NPC with a not so combative personality, like Jack, Tali or...Legion. Strong NPCs can balance out weaker ones.

So with Legion missing there should be less danger of anyone dying BECAUSE of his absence. At least...that's the idea. And I hope it works out.

If Legion is your only casualty (and the rest of your squad is loyal) you should have no problem holding the line and everyone should survive.
