I remember people complaining about the elevators back when ME 1 was the only ME game and now people want them back?

Wondrous concept, this changing of opinions about something after it has been replaced with what one might consider an inferior alternative.

Well it's either loading screens or elevators there really is no in between.  I don't mind either one so I don't care but people ought to make up their mind

First one. The huge spaces, the size and scope of it. Also - I loved the elevators.

Second one is by far the least interesting. Third one is ok, but still didn't quite catch the majestic feel of the first one.

And that's what's (been) happening. Yay elevators, always liked them! Posted Image

ME1 and ME3 are tied for me. I liked ME1's because of how large it was. I liked ME3's because it was the first time the Citadel actually looked liveable and appealing to me. I especially liked the view of the Presidium from Huerta Memorial, everything looked so clean and bright.
ME2's Citadel was pretty disappointing for me - mainly because it reminded me of an airport.

Just a Random Question: Did anybody noticed the large visual retcon the presidium underwernt in Mass Effect 3, Also the Presidum has lost that sterile/clean/pure/white feel in Mass Effect 3.

Fair enough, at least you are consistent.  I liked them well enough but I could see where they felt long for some people.  Though most of the elevators in ME 1 were actualy avoidable since the citadel did have a fast travel system.

The presidium is huge, you are just in a different part of the presidium in ME 3.

ME1. ME3's was ruined by the fetch quests.

Elevator sequences that add to the lore with news updates and squad banter to familiarize ourselves with our squadmates > static loading screens.

The Citadel in ME1 was best, but I liked ME3's as well.

A mix of ME and ME3 would have been perfect. And by that I don't mean a bunch of self-contained, rather lifeless locations seperated by loading screens.

All in all original ME Citadel wins.

Mass Effect 1 definitely. I loved all the music for it, too. It had the most ambiance and atmosphere by far, and felt like it was one huge area -- even if it was a trick because of the elevators. There was quite a ton to do, and also the Citadel felt a bit like a hub, or a home. Some place to go back to that felt safe after traversing the galaxy in a quiet and dark ship and surviving an exploration on some meteor-ridden planet. It was great, and is absolutely iconic and integral to Mass Effect. Heck, I care more about the Citadel than Earth in context of the series.

Mass Effect 1 because it had the most areas to explore. I didnt like the one in ME3 because none of the areas were interconnected like there were in ME1 and ME2.

Mass Effect 1 for sure, I liked that everything was connected, I could walk around the whole thing without ever seeing a loadscreen. And I liked the elevators, I don't know why someone would prefer an immersion breaking loadscreen to a elevator ride.

Tied between ME1 and ME3. To hard to choose.

I miss the game not filled with dark black corners and shadows everywhere.

What ME1 did much better was natural lighting that fell more like outdoors and less gamey - the way light and shadows work is technically better in ME3 - but its too heavy and saturated throughout for my taste.

This was actually something I preferred about ME3's implementation. The Citadel's a big place , but everything we needed to see in ME1 was right next to everything else?

I would have preferred using skycars to get around in ME3, but I suppose they're implied

Ideally I'd say we should have gotten a really huge Citadel, with a few seperate locations of original ME Citadel like size (including elevators), all connected via skycars. Especially since we had only the Citadel in ME3.

Indeed, I think that ME1 had a better art design and better aesthetics.

ME1 was the best so much to explore. I did like ME3 but the one thing that bothered me was after the attack, the commons area is never repaired or the fires put out. The keepers must have been on strike I guess.

The first one. The second one made me feel like I was in a shopping mall that you just don't visit after dark. The third was good, but I got that image that people probably threw trash off the sides of the buildings or something. The first one was just really clean and pristine.
