Wouldn't it be great if Bioware did a 40k RPG where you play as an Inquisitor?

Anyone who has read Eisenhorn or Ravenor or played FFG Dark Heresy knows that the Inq and his/her retinue is a great setting for an RPG. You have a lot of choice and freedom (oddly for the Imperium). You can recruit all kinds of things into your retinue like ex-guardsmen, religious fanatics, savants, death cult assasians and daemonic hosts. Then you have the Puritan/Radical split. I know THQ owns all the rights to make RPGs but it would be pretty awesome if Bioware did a dark sci-fi game based on 40k.

This being a BioWare game, it can only end in tears as the fanbase is upset that they're not able to get it on with that really hawt Eldar due to the whole "being an Inquisitor" thing.

But, all silliness aside, as an old-school PC gamer, I have more love and respect for Relic than I do for BW (not a knock against BW, Relic is just awesome). I'd rather things stay the way they are.

But you would. BioWare would exactly make Love Can Bloom: the RPG, only even cornier and badly written.

But Inquisitors deny the human rights *cough* xeno rights.. blah blah!

Yes it would be great, if you can infiltrate among non-evil races and using them to destroy the forces of chaos, necrons, orks etc.

No keep EA and bioware as hell'a far away from WH40k As possible, I don't want to have to be forced to romance a dark eldar.

Only if you hate the Warhammer series.
As I don't care one iota for it they can do whatever they want I guess.

True, I should have said "it would be great if it be made" not by bioware actually ... The BiowEAre will just screw up the frachises they might work on.

Well, inter-species love isn't impossible in the 40K setting...just really, REALLY, REALLY unlikely and difficult in most cases. And depending on the individuals and their positions, even more unlikely.

A regular citizen? possible.
A regular guardsman? possible.
Inquisitor? Highly unlikely..mayhaps more likely for radicals
Space Marine? Exceptionally unlikely.

Expect a multiracial squad, you'll have an inquisitor, an ultramarine, an imperial guard, blood angel and grey knight(not sure if this is right, a little new to this series.), A tau, elder, dark elder, necron, and chaos marine. And over the course of 3 games fans will complain about why you can't have an ork squadmate since we've already had a necron one.

People will be able to play as orks in the new multiplayer pack resurgence.

Actully the codex is clear on that issue. They could, but they better keep as far from the Imperium as possible. That would be seen as heritical thought. Given the Imperium has a policiy of full genocide of all alien races on its worlds. A whole World could. With Billions or Trillions of people. The Imperium would not pause to burn the wolrd to the ground, even if mixed human alien couples, were a minority. The whole World will burn as its the only way to "purify" the world. Not even one person would be allowed to leave, even if the world were a loyal world.

The God Emperor however was a bit more open minded. Its funny how far the Current Imperium is from his vision. I mean Sanguine for example, while beloved by the Emperor, a commander of a Legion, and loyal, was a mutant.

The current Imperium Policy in terms of mutants is "kill on sight".

Overall still stands, BW and EA can't pay attention to its own Lore. I don't want them anywhere near Warhammer's.

No, I'd rather see BioWare stay the f*ck away from Warhammer 40k before they ruin that franchise with their crappy writing and poor game-design decisions!

It breaks my heart to see so many treacherous words used on these forums for a company that has and continues to make pretty good games.

I really don't see the rationale of judging an entire company based off a single 10 minutes, it is very hard for me to see reason in this.

If that was true than I have to question the sanity of anyone paying for dragon's dogma. Didn't you see what they did with marvel vs capcom? Don't they see what they did to resident evil?

All they'll do is bleed you for dlc or release it in a new version of the game you'll have to pay for in full.

It's more than 10 minutes. It's basically the whole of DA2 and ME3 (minus the multiplayer, the mp in ME3 is awesome).

BioWare seems the have lost their touch. They've proven to be incapable of creating good games with good stories since DA2 and ME3.

I want to play as the Tau. Loved them in Dawn of War, just spam Fire warriors and they decimate anything.

Actully the new game being worked on now will have the Orks, Imperium, and Chaos as playable races, so far confirmed.  Just split into various SPC's. Might be more factions, who knows.

Anyways, there is much more behind my remarks than a "10 minutes" I want EA as far from this franchise as possible. Period. I've Seen CNC die and be twisted into something else, I won't have that for Warhammer.

I liked dragonage 2.

I'm not certain my brain is the same as that of a bsn poster or rpg hardcore fan.

How many here liked the space marine video game?

I look forward to their next console release because I don't play on the pc. d(^_^d)

Personal preference.

Sorry for going off the handle by the way, I just got tired of all the hate for bioware. They haven't stabbed me in the back like capcom did for marvel vs capcom, no dlc and you have to buy ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 at full retail to get the new characters or features in the game. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)

What is a DM?

EDIT: That does look fun. I wonder if the darksiders team can really pull it off.
