Ok, this is probably just a blind leap out in the dark but I made some research of my own since I remembered hearing the word Aequitas in some other context before and I found this.

"Aequitas (genitive aequitatis) is the Latin concept of justice, equality, conformity, symmetry, or fairness. It is the origin of the English word "equity"." wikipedia

So far nothing that rises any eyebrows but then I read:

"Cicero defined aequitas as "tripartite": the first, he said, pertained to the gods above (ad superos deos) and is equivalent to pietas, religious obligation; the second, to the Manes, the underworld spirits or spirits of the dead, and was sanctitas, that which is sacred; and the third pertaining to human beings (homines) was iustitia, "justice"."

The meaning of the word is divided into three parts; the god (way of the gods, old machines - control) the spirit (way of the dead spirits, synthetics - synthesis) and human beings (the way of justice and human beings, organics - Destroy).
Does anyone else find this a bit too convenient to be a coincident?
As I said, not sure about anything but thought I should put it out there anyway.

At this point, if IT isnt true, Bioware failed to see so potential in what they were doing that isnt even funny.

I might start using that in my sig at some point :P

Pelle, it's an interesting one - could very easily be nothing but I'll have a look into it tomorrow and see if I notice anything worthwhile. If the planet does have some sort of significance then I think the name of it likely would too, being derived from latin...

TSA_383, Meatus, Xavendithas...thank you SOOO much for reminding me why I hate Indoctrination Theorists. It's not the theory itself, which is pretty solid and would be amazing if BioWare managed to convince me it's what they had meant. It's people like the 3 of you...best described as APOLOGISTS. Even IF the IT turns out to be true (which I doubt), it doesn't excuse BioWare for this ending blunder. They should have included this realization in the game, but they didn't. A little 2 second breatching clip is woefully inadequate.

Alex Arterius wrote...

I find this hard to believe...

this
kind of reminds me on an English exam where you have to examine lines
in poems + stories in meticulous detail for meaning and symbolism whilst
thinking to yourself "Did the writer really mean this?"

Eg
"there were blue curtains on the wall", the blue represents the solemn,
lonely mood of the character and curtains symbolism the fact that he's
blocking things out, much like curtains block light out" ... But
probably the writer literally just meant that the curtains happened to
be blue color and there is actually no deeper meaning to be
found.

You forgot the wall...the wall designed to protect him from the outside world!

I've said it before in other threads, and I'll say it again here.

I don't think BioWare thought the ending was going to receive the hate it did. I have a feeling that they meant us all to walk away talking about the ending the way people discuss the ending of Inception. We were supposed to pick all the pieces apart and try and figure out what they mean. Keep us preoccupied with that while they followed the DLC schedule they had lined up until they dropped the final DLC on us clearing the whole thing up once and for all. BioWare had had to reprioritize based on the reaction.

They may have dropped the ball, but I am unwilling to throw them under the bus until the EC is released.

Apologist? Maybe. I am just NOT ready to turn my back on my favorite video games.

It's almost as if they stumbled on a very decent plot twist on accident. I wish I had their luck.

This is Bioware's Trump Card.

The fans wouldn't believe them if they came out with the IT.

However with this evidence from 2010.. They got us. Planned all along. :bandit:

if true of course

Although I think if we're going to start apply Occam's razor to ME3 then you'd have to say the literal interpretation of
"and then shepard spoke to the king of the reapers, who happened to look like the little child he'd been having nightmares about for absolutely no sinister reason at all. The reaper king persuaded shepard that it was a bad idea to destroy them, for absolutely no reason of self-interest at all, and shepard jumped into a beam which magically fused all DNA with machinery to create a utopia of peace."

Comes in at slightly less likely than
"the reapers are manipulative dicks who've been indoctrinating people since the first game and now they're doing it again."

Or

Bioware has been sending secret messages to the fan base hinting at indoctrination over a 2 year peroid. Like red herrings, or trees moving, the shape on the council chambers, appearing piles of bodies, rubble in the breath sequence.

or

Bioware rushed the ending

I like my secret messages and red herrings to be IN GAME. I usually ignore every whatevernamethatcodiethingieshave for phones, facebook, twitter(really, killing characters in twitter, is so stupid..). I play a game, I want all I need in the game(s). I read a book, I like to have it in the book(s), not knowing that a friend of the main character is killed because they do a advertisement in some newspaper and said advertisement is the killing.

I dont know perhaps, but in my opinon all that social media thing is going out of hand.

Agreed, but it's all about trying to pull people into the multiplayer and such like, since they make good money off that too.
Besides, I think some of this stuff was supposed to be difficult to find. If all this stuff had turned up the day after release there'd be nothing to keep the fans talking whilst they got the DLC ready...

There is no Prothean Reaper. They weren't convertible, so the entire race got huskified. Save for Javik and the Protheans we are likely getting in the rebellion pack.

Colelctors are the husks of the Prothean cycle. If you downloaded From Ashes, you would know this for a fact.

If it's deleted, we know it's true.

But
if not, perhaps they want us to keep speculating, but perhaps they
wanted someone to come to this conclusion. Beungie put together
elaborate viral campagins for the Halo games, mush more so than the
barcodes being used for Mass Effect 3. Perhaps IT was being hinted at
from day 1.

London calling to the imitation zone

Forget it, brother, you can go it alone

London calling to the zombies of death

Quit holding out, and draw another breath

London calling, and I don't wanna shout

But while we were talking, I saw you nodding out

London calling, see we ain't got no high

Except for that one with the yellowy eyes

I think this one little bit of the song and the glaring similarities with the ending are rather interesting. "Another breath" especially interests me. Maybe BioWare just wanted to make people realize London will be important, but this feels like too much of a coincidence.

I do have a few gripes about all of this. The game (not ME3 but the mind game this all is getting at) BioWare might be playing is a bit too obtuse. 2 and a half months later, more people should be coming to the proper conclusion. Being misleading for a while is just dandy, but it needs to eventually lead to the truth. It's taking too long and been to divisive of an issue.

When people start attacking each other over whether or not something more may have been going on, BioWare should step in and quell the fights going on. But rather than making a statement that could put this all to bed once and for all, BioWare closes flame thread and bans repeat offenders, but lets it go on. There is a division in the community that could kill the game for good, but BioWare won't comment. It leads me to believe that what we see is far more than meets the eye, but BioWare isn't handling things well at all. At best, they will get a few months of people possibly paying cash for MP packs until the EC ruins the game for them once and for all by staying silent.

This is probably why Bioware is so frustrated. People have underestimated them to the point of reducing ME3 to completely nonsensical writing, when we ALL know it was out of character for them in the first place. Excellent post; perhaps a few people will see this and stop being so shortsighted. A tall order, I know, but I guess that's what you get when you cater to CoD-type gamers. I can't wait for EC!

http://en.wikipedia....i/Occam's_razor

Out of curiosity did you double check what he said to be true? I did, or did you simply accept something a stranger said on the internet as fact?

That last bit - with you 110%
If people can look into this and I've missed something, whether that means I'm wrong or right, it all helps stop us from having false information, which is great.

Well, if IT is true, and was all along
Biowares intention, to surprise us with it...it backfired horribly. For
two reasons, basically:

Execution: Even counting IT, the actual
ending of ME3 is bad and nonsensical. Seems some loselly conected (some
parts even seems DISconected) video cuts hastily put togheter.

Explanation: No explanation. If IT is true, the damn "buy DLC " after the credits,
can be very easily misinterpreted (DLC usually are moneythefts),
Bioware behaviour after launch and fans reactions, laked a lot, and
there is NO PLACE where you can see WITHOUT DOUBT Bioware is saying
"there is going more than yours eyes are seeing". And that one was
needed to be IN GAME. All that is so sloppy, than even if IT is
true(I like it a lot more than what we actually see) I am not going to
think good job with the deception Bioware*.

P.D:* Bioware, whatever the case is, dropped the ball. HARD.

Whilst I don't think they need to make it easier (where would be the challenge if you didn't have to think?) that DLC ad at the end was like a ****slap to the face to the entire audience and I think whoever approved that idea should be hung upside down from their ankles over a large cliff until they apologise.

This is precisely the point I've been trying to get across but it's not sinking in.  Either Bioware wrote a completely nonsensical ending that violates thier previous lore in every way possible or they stayed true to their previous story and indoctrinated the player with a fake ending.  Indoctrination is far more likely.  The Reapers are evil and they will always be.  They are not going to offer the humans peace and accept them as equals.  Harbinger, Sovereign's, and Rannoch Reaper's dialogue - I'll call him Fred - Fred's dialogue completely contradicts this.

While I agree with you here (Especially because I don't have a phone that does QR.  It really leaves me out of things) I really liked the Emily Wong death.  Maybe it sucked for people who weren't there, but I was refreshing every five minutes, on the edge of my seat.  It was really cool.

I dont doubt it, probably was very interesting. But this type of things, out of the game "framework" ...NO, please NO. Thing about it...next time , perhaps, they are going to kill some character like...uhm..Jack?Grunt?Samara?Jacob?(even with him, it isnt going to be ok, in my opinion). To injury to insult, they put Diana Allers instead...
