Technically, I have quit before, about twice, but, because I had to go do something else right away.  I always give a team the benefit of the doubt even though I think it looks doubtful that we will get all three objectives.  This morning's first match started off that way.

I was playing Stardusk's Asari Bulwark build which cannot self detonate BE.  It can tank like nothing else and rip anything apart with reeve and assualt rifle, but, no awesome booms.  So, she needs another biotic to play with for BE.

I got one, an AA, yay!  With a saber 2, ugh!  This isn't going to work, I thought.  She, he, it will have crap CD and be too busy spamming bullets, with that horrible recoil.  I was the only one with a mic.  It took 10 minutes for a team to form up.

First objective comes out with an Atlas.  I ask nicely for a warp or throw on the Atlas, 5 times.  I'm spamming reeve.  Everybody is running around like chickens without a head.  No warp or throw to be seen, not a one.

I quit in disgust.

Incidentally, before that match started, I got a level 8 infiltrator telling me that he could out damage my AJA.  Nevermind that he couldn't touch my AJA and he's easier to squash than a fly.  I just laughed and started another match before it got started.

Dear Randoms, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??  WTF are you doing??  And get a damn mic!  I'm not the best player in the world, but, c'mon, ppl, get some of the basics down.

It's getting harder and harder to find decent players.

I agree but mics aren't necessary. As long as they can hear you barking orders/giving advice that should be enough.

How dare you expect an asari adept to have points in either warp or throw! If a person wants to play with 21 unspent skill points that is their right! They payed for this game just like you. Next thing you know, you'll be expecting drell to have AoE reave, SE to have decoy, and infiltrators to have cloak. Stop being an elitist!

You have my sympathy. There are a lot of morons out there.

I ragequit once with randoms. It was on silver / Geth / Reactor. One of the upload tasks in the centre of the core thing with the three doors. I ran to start it and bunkered down. Held them off for a minute then realised no-one else was coming. I went down, waited until spacebar stopped extending my life and resd myself. Lo and behold; Pyro and Hunter spam. Still no-one around. Held them off for a bit longer, went down ... repeat ... still no-one.

I was the host. F**k you, whoever was playing that map with me.

AJ doesnt need BE. She can be awesome in any match with just spamming "wide" reave.
I wont rage quit just because nobody detonates my reaved targets.

But I do rage quit if at least 2 people dont care about hacking in wave 3. Kill greedy bastards who fapfap on their kills.

BE are ok but unnecessary. Weapon loadouts are also only partially important. It comes down to the player.

Placing the bubble can detonate Reave. (Even with the Sphere's upgrade tree at at rank 1).

That's not the point though. The issue is the baffling incompetence of players and a team who can't deal with an atlas efficiently. If half the team falls apart on wave 3, it just doesn't seem worth the rockets, medigel, time, and frustration needed to drag those players through wave 10.

edit:

Not the point, plus such biotic detonations are really weak since neither reave nor biotic sphere get +50% BE damage, plus the issue of having to run up that close to atlases, and later phantoms.

It still causes stagger, which gives you a chance to get away. The bubble also goes through walls/cover, so it can detonate in ways normal powers can't. It's all about tactical planning ;)
And with the Phantom issue - even on gold, 4 Reaves on a Phantom is usually enough to kill her, especially if you weaken her a bit by shooting.

And you can also place it over spawnpoints, nuking entire packs of mobs.

Yes but not with Stardusk's defensive/tank AJA setup. That requires the Warp rank 6 upgrade.

Sympathy. I play a very power spammy AA who doesn't give a hoot about score, so long as she can make things explode. Mostly a silver random player, but I can NEVER find players who want to work together. Have a mic but rarely chitchat, always listen. Wanna solve our shared problem?

Were you playing gold, silver or bronze ?

You picked/built a character that cannot self detonate, thats your decision. To rage quit because your team mates won't "Play the way you want them to play" is a bit riddiculous.

Who died and made you Shepard?

Its harder "to find decent players" becuse everyone think that is boss, and if someone new or more casual show up they are instantly labeled as horrible people and useless beings. If you want good player seek them, or be stuck with randoms and there random randomness  If you get this mad about this, you need to get your stuff sorted out dude its not the way to be at all. It is because of people that get this mad about simple stuff that I mute everyone when not on the mood to deal with it. Find a group of pro and play with them, and lets the casual have fun there way after a day of work or school most people just want to relax and have fun.

But everyone wants to win too... if the random idiots don't want to win... and won't work together/pull weight, then cuss 'em and quit. Sucks if you've used good rail amps/armor amps and you have to lose them, but I'd rather quit and lose them, than stay in the game and use all my rockets and medi-gels on a lost cause.

I sympathize with the OP... it is for this reason that I friend every good player I meet who has a mic. Now I have a horde of great players to call upon, I added 2 more this weekend as a matter of fact. A really good infiltrator named LiB, and a fantastic AA named Air Air Eric.

Been there many times.  I didn't bark at them.  But communicating with this group was as effective as asking the reapers to play nice.

You mean players?  I wasn't in the mood to try and work with people who give no indication of trying to work with me.  Maybe I was hasty and they would have taken shelter under my bubble and coordinated fire when the **** really starts to roll out.  But, I didn't see it that way and decided to cut my losses early.  What I saw was a team destined to wipe out and I just wasn't in the mood for it.  I decided to spend my time before heading out to work in a manner more pleasant than herding cats and hurling expletives.  Maybe I should try silver next time I'm in that mood.

That's how I play.  I even went so far as to spec her for 2.22 sec Warp and Recharge Combo Throw so she can be more independant and avoid the tech spam.

Sadly we are not on the same system.  I'm on PC.

Gold.  I often forget that most people rarely play gold.

Learn to read.  I did not rage quit.  I did a Disgust Quit.  Just in time too because soon after, I had to potty.

I died and made me Shepard, all without TIM's help.  :P

Yea it is terribly frustrating when you have a team that is perfect for things like biotic explosions but nobody does them.

My Drell Vanguard gets awesome results if someone (adept/sentinel/asari vanguard with stasis) casts a primer spell like reave or warp before I charge, drop a grenade then rtfa, but even with a team comprised of Drell Adept, Turian Sentinel and a human infiltrator, maybe twice I actually got to trigger an explosion.

Yea I could use Pull and do it myself but that only works on unshielded targets and I get better results maxing everything else, so end up relying on teammates for that extra awesomeness. :(

I've actually played a lot of randoms where the team dies horrifically in the first few rounds, but then gets better and manages to beat wave 10 and possibly even extract.

I think the main problem is people are arrogant because the first few rounds are easy, so they just charge in mindlessly and get killed by crossfire.

Yes, I've played with many teams that got better after the first round and made it to full extraction.   But, it seems harder to find those teams now.  I'm seeing more Asari Adept with Black Widow I and all sorts of goofiness on gold.

Really..? I am sick of people who are like OMG how can you play Asari adept without any points in throw.
Who exactly said I have to do biotic explosions instead of statis everyone and headshot them? Image IPB There are no rules of how should you play classes as long as you are effective.
