At least we were able to play our single-player game on release day.
^This, Diablo III launch was a greasy horror show and the metacritic score reflects that and not the game itself.

Indeed lol.
The only reason D3 has such a bad Metacritic user rating is because its online only and the first week has had issues with connecting.
Hell, i complained when it was first announced that it was online only too, and im still unhappy theres no offline mode, but i cant change that so will have to live with it.
The rest of the game is good if a little "old" imo, and it not a story based game like the ME or DA series so anyone who uses that to lower its score is just being pissy tbh.
Oh, and metacritic sux as nowadays its just full of trolls rather than true useres who submit proper reviews.

Metzen makes Walters look like Shakespeare. On the other hand he's never deliberately torpedoed his entire worlds. Yet.
I got the feeling a couple years ago that Metzen is becoming increasingly hands-off, though maybe things have changed while I quit throwing money at Blizzard because they made a terribly boring expansion. While I'm sure the Mists of Pokemon will sell a bajillion copies, they're basing an entire expansion on an easter-egg joke.

I don't regret the money spent on D3. If you liked D1 and D2, D3 was like going home again. It's the best definition of mindless fun I can think of. A large portion of my guild bought it and we've been playing together in between raid nights. The story is simplistic. It always has been. Good things are good and must be defended. Evil things are Evil and must be destroyed.
While I get that people are frustrated about the "must be online" thing, it wasn't any big secret. They told people last year it was going to be that way. Tanking reviews because of something that had been announced long in advance is a little childish. I had maybe one or two occasions where I had outages the first couple days, but not since.
Now, if Blizzard had never said anything about it and slipped it in to the game, then yes, get raving mad over it. I'd support it. But unlike BioWare and the ME3 ending, consumers were informed, which is vastly different than the myriad of promises that BioWare made regarding ME3 that they failed to make good on.

Diablo actually does have an interesting background. Shame they didn't make more use of it. It's kind of like Warcraft. The first two games didn't utilize much of it's story, but they certainly did for the third game.
