Why so much hate and sarcasm here? You know your pretty much suggesting they should destroy the first game as well since that's what the movies based one.

EDIT: Scratch that last part, but the question still stands, why do you people want it to fail?

I don´t get why Scott still has credit when it´s been 30 years since he made his really good movies, and has done more bad movies than good since then.

I have no preference as I don´t think ME can be translated properly to a movie. I´d rather they made a TV series, but Space Opera seems to be banned on TV more or less since BSG ended.

Than don't think of it as cannon than.

Why is that so hard for people to do? If you don't want it as cannon and no body's saying it's cannon than it's not cannon, simple as that.

There are many versions of spiderman, none of them are cannon. Same thing here and with all other adaptation movies.

They are seperate from the cannon of the story because they are a different interpretation of the facts. Think a 'what if-' story crossed with an alternate deminson, that's what movie adaptations are like.

Duncan Jones or nothing. At least with that man, he has played a few video games in his time.

What Directior do you want in the unlikely eventuality that they actually make the Mass Effect movie?

I say:

Joss Whedon

He's good with characters-driven stories, and, well... he made Firefly :P

Agreed. Joss Whedon.

This. He does really good work with both action and story, IMO.

Joss Whedon is the only one.

After him, maybe Peter Jackson, or Christopher Nolan.

How about nobody from Hollywood? We dont need Hollywood ruining the ME franchise anymore than it already has been. Get this film made in Canada or France or some place like that. All Hollywood is capable of are big explosions and crappy CGI effects. I actually want a good film that has some integrity.

Uwe Boll, or however you spell his name. The movie is going to be bad anyways, as it takes place during the events of ME1. Might as well make sure its bad and not something in between. Less whining about whether its good or bad that way =]

Ridley Scott is the obvious answer, as has already been mentioned.

If only it were possible, a Powell and Pressburger approach would be dead interesting. If you imagine them with modern tech. It'd be mindblowing.

But...

Even though I know I'll get flamed...

I'd love to see a Kevin Smith version. Snooch!

Ditto.

...or Michael Bay.  The special effects and explosions might be an effective distraction to keep people from noticing that the movie is crap.

Darren Aronofsky (The Fountain, Black Swan)...because I think he would be able to handle the ME3 ending
