This is depressing.

Not everyone has the kind of internet connectivity that permits them to play online MP. I'm one such. My latency is routinely 2+ seconds (satellite sucks). Even if a MP server would allow me to connect, it would be a horribly unpleasant experience for me, and worse yet....completely unfair to anyone who is depending on me to perform reasonably well in a team environment.

Online MP is just completely, 100% unplayable for some of us.

For others it's simply a matter of personal distaste.

Ok, some might argue, why not just skip MP and play the SP only portion of the game? Why allow your issues with MP to spoil our fun?

Well, my answer to that is ME3. Apparently, MP was required to get enough war assets to experience to get all the endings. Bioware has, in my view, made MP mandatory for completing ME3 despite their promises and assurances that you could skip it entirely and still get the best endings. From all the evidence I've seen posted by the fans in ME3's forums, I believe the fans are right and Bioware were being less than forthright about that issue. Bioware's ongoing refusal to address the issue reflects poorly on them as a company IMO.

If Bioware introduce MP into DA then they will likely wish to integrate it into the larger game, just as they did with ME3, to avoid being accused of just 'tacking MP on'. The moment they do that, your desire for MP ruins my chance of having a satisfying SP experience.

Why should Bioware listen to me rather than the MP afficianados?

No reason whatsoever. You're just as important as me, obviously. But there's this to consider too. People who want to play MP are spoiled for choices right now. Every publisher and his mabari are focused on the multiplayer experience. COD, MOH, Diablo, Sim City, every MMO, the list just seems endless.

Is DA3's MP going to be so compelling that it will compete succesfully with those kinds of titles? If so, then go ahead. But if not, you risk further alienating much of your 'niche' fanbase that bought twice as many copies of DAO as they did DA2, and who want the SP game to be significantly better than DA2's. Adding MP will divert resources away from SP: such is the nature of game development. Zots are limited.

Adding MP would be a huge gamble for Bioware given that they are struggling to regain the credibility it lost with DA2, and again with the ME3 ending debacle. Some gambles are worth taking, some are not. I submit that MP is of the latter variety. YMMV.

NO ON MP ty, gettin tired of all these MP games, I want to play a game without having to play online. And I'm tired of these lil special deal things u can only get if you play MP. I spend a large amount of money on games a year, I shouldn't be forced to play online just to get certain achievements or bonuses. That's not fair for a lot of people.

I'm too wary to look forward to a multiplayer mode for DA3. Bioware have already shown how it can turn out with ME3. Even if it wasn't a shallow tack on like ME3 (which is fun for five minutes), it will probably still employ the same business tactics they employ with ME3's multiplayer. I don't want to see another system that's engineered towards getting people to pay over and over for the same random pack in the hopes of unlocking something worthwhile.

I'd vote no to both MP and co-op as part of the original game purchase. If they did a separate DLC that I can ignore, then I don't care. But I would much rather they spend all of their time working on a great single player game.

Neverwinter night - worked ok. I never played it and didn't notice it.

If there is MP, I would like to see mmo style raids - just one big mission (different missions would take different amounts of time to complete - anywhere from 20-60 minutes). Obviously difficulty would have to be scaled down a little bit because of lack-of-pausing. And definitely scale difficulty to number of players present as well as a pre-determined setting.

The only way I could accept MP in DA, is if they release the toolset to players, so they can make their own mods, and let these mods be MP. This is what they did with Neverwinter Nights, and it worked great.

But I am totally opposed to Bioware to committing resources to creating a MP version as an official part of the DA world, as it would totally screw the solo campaign canon, as well as take resources away from making DA3 and future installments to the best of their ability.

Not every game can offer everything to every person. There are other MP options out there. Go enjoy those, and let Bioware concentrate on making DA3 to be the next DAO or BG2.

EA want all their games to be MP. It's very likely there will be MP of some kind in DA3 for that reason.

I swear that EA would try to turn Tetris into an MMO shooter.

I'm not really sold on the idea of DA MP. If it was anything like ME3, I'd run into the same problems I run into when playing that - it's good for a quick game, but I don't really care about it and can't do any kind of sustained play, because the characters I'm playing have literally no personality. I have no investment in their fates. Case in point, I'm about to pick up one of my old DA2 games again and I'm really excited about it. But I'm not excited to play my Hawke because she's an archer, I'm excited to play it because she's an agressive sassy lady with an amazing sister who she cares about.

Be cool if they somehow where able to import multiplayer character into singleplayer and actually be a companion. I personally don't mind it (enjoy me3 multiplayer) but if they where to add multiplayer to dragon age, I hope bioware takes it up a notch and let's our multiplayer character be a companion in singleplayer. At the very least give them a cameo in sp.

Good God that would be awful. No MP. There shouldn't have been MP in ME3, and there shouldn't be any in DA3.

I would be open to Co-op, if it were as done as well as ME3.

However, having played TOR, I'd say no to PvP.

I'm open to MP, as long as it's well developed, of course.

Actually, having an in-universe combatible co-op/multiplayer, even PvP would be awesome. Save/defend a village from Darkspawn/Undead (like Redcliffe), take down a High Dragon (like in Act 3 of DAII). I'd also be really interested in a tournament style PvP - didn't Orlais at least have some sort of tournament tradition? That could be pretty interesting as PvP...

Edit
to add: maybe as a (Day-1) DLC? That way there'd be some extra for people who want it without heaping something on those players who only want to play SP?
