Why not kill the swarmers?

That's my question.  I mean, ideally people would kill the ravagers without actually breaking the sacs at all.  Sure, it takes 2 or 3 seconds longer that way, but then you don't have an mini army of swarmers running around.  But that's not what people do at all.  Even if there's a perfectly capable infiltrator dedicated to killing ravagers without dropping swarmers, someone HAS to turn a rapid fire weapon on it.  And they break the sacs but don't touch the swarmers.  Those swarmers are bad news.  I can't even count how many times people have died, myself included, because they ducked with enough time to regen shields and move to a new position, only to have 20 swarmers that someone else caused to drop jump all over them and stop shield regen.  Even worse, with only a bar of health left, they ducked, killed by a single stray swarmer from behind.

I'm confused, because they're very easy to kill.  As in, one shot each on any gun, one power, whatever.  Yeah, it's annoying if you have a slow firing weapon because your ammo is more valuable, but if you have a slow firing weapon you probably didn't shot a ravager in the sac, and if you did, you should clean up your own damn mess.  One aoe power will do the trick too.  When I play a Drell Adept, spamming area reave on a ravagers keeps everything in check.  But easy as they are to kill, people would rather, it seems, leave a good position and run away.  Which is really really jerky.  Why?  Because they don't despawn after a period of time.  They go until they get killed, or until they find someone.  Which means if you just dropped 40 swarmers off of four ravagers and decide to run away, they WILL find someone else on your team and make their life very difficult.

I'm just tired of spending every reaper match on 24/7 swarmer duty because everyone else is actually trying to get them off of themselves and on to other team members.  Look, first of all, you should clean up your own mess.  If you're the reason there are swarmers on the field, you clean them up.  Second, if you didn't cause them, but you see them, kill them anyway, because if you don't, they're still going to hurt someone else on yoru team, and they probably won't see it coming.

Seriously, sometimes I wonder if matches I don't play ever have swarmers killed, or if the whole team is kiting 100+ by the end of the match praying they all land on someone else instead of just effing shooting them.

I support this option, anyway, the swarmers will jump toward your missiles to save the Banshees you are aiming, so...
Better safe than sorry.

Killing swarmers never seema a priotity after all on gold almost anything > swarmers and if you're using a Javelin, chaces are you can't afford to waste a shot. Thats why I use the Revenant GU build, allowing me to use proxies, shoot at sh*t and still be able to deal decent damage to brutes etc. Peple just never see 'em. The only time i ctually KILL swarmers is when I'm a GI and can't afford to be hit at all.

Easiest way? Run over them. They die immediately, you lose no ammo. Only downside, you miss out on the huge point bonus.

Or the Paladin/Claymore.
Or I just walk up and Geth Heavy Melee and pop the swarm (GE + shield turret).

pop the sac on the front and shoot the exposed green section, you deal more damage that way.

Besides, the aren't a threat anyways, especially if you're Captain Crowd Control. Even then they are simple enough to avoid or take out with a sidearm. Heck you can just normal melee them to kill them without taking shield damage.

Now me, I like to deliberately shoot all the sacs open, and then hurl a wide-range grenade right into the Ravager's face, killing it off and eliminating all the little Swarmer jerkwads at once. Because I'm spiteful as hell.

In the heat of a battle most people don't look for them. This is when players with stasis need to react. Swarmers explode upon contact with a stasis bubble.

Swarmers? Sure, they can be a nuisance for some more than others.

Nothing an area reave, warp bubble, stasis bubble or chain overload (ed) cannot fix. :-)

Forgot to mention.  If someone else has released a swarm and they're going unattended, if I have a moment and I'm a Sentinel or Krogan Vanguard I'll let the little bastards crawl up to me, then detonate my armor just as they're getting jumpy.  For the extra insult.

I mentioned I was spiteful, yes?  I had some bad times with Swarmer -caused deaths back when I was an MP greenhorn, and they're gonna pay for it until the end of time.

I always Biotic Charge (specced for AoE) swarmers when I'm playing Drellguard. Retribution for all the times they've taken me down 1 second after I've popped an Ops Pack. Those things are nasty...

They don't die they jump on you taking down your shields little by little. Runing over them jusat makes their work easier plus the point bonus is minimal better to kll a cannibal.

Agreed, when I was a ME3 MP Greenhorn I kept getting killed by those bastards.. and the pissy thing is that almost every class has a power that can eliminate most if not all of them

After I finished single player, I eventually got the "kill 5,000 enemies achievement," not realizing that the swarmers would have helped me get the achievement faster. Then I left the swarmers for other players (especially at the end of a level) so they could up their kill count. Now I just try to get rid of them because they are what I seem to die the most from in matches against Reapers.

With incinerate specced for radius they end up all dying anyways so I actually aim to break all the sacs then hit it with incinerate usually killing the ravagers and all the swarmers in one shot. Takes about a minute for the kill pop-ups to catch up

Chain Overload, Area Reave, Singularity, liberal spraying with a burst/auto weapon... so many possibilities.
