What Im trying to say is, Diablo 3 has its issues, Blizzard shouldve known better but here we are instead. Granted, their servers were hacked in anticipation for the real-world money Cash shops and really theres only so much you can do.

They made some real mistakes on their end, mistakes that they are responsible for. You can't just handwave it or blame the gamers. You build a crappy bridge then one day it collapses, you dont blame the people who were on it. See what Im saying?

That really describes this whole current-generation of gaming.  Money grabs ending badly left and right,  and then they pretend like the Gamers are somehow wrong for complaining about it.

This quest for squeezing consumers for every last cent is really going to crush gaming,  we're not sheeple,  we're not going to sit here and get nickle-dimed to death.

It seems we are, with the way gaming has been headed.

And how so many just continue to go right on along with it. We are the consumer demand. We have just as much pull as the devs and publishers do. That is why we need to get under one banner.

Its hard when we're so busy fighting amongst ourselves. Some of us staunchly defend the very practices that hurt us in the long run. And for what? Pride? Ego? We've been eating this crap sandwich for so long, some of us have developed a taste for it.

Obviously dropping videogames isnt a real alternative for some people, but how about this? Whenever an MMO comes out, we make this trend happen where nobody preorders no matter how good it is?
At the very least everyone in this thread could try it. No more getter burned by bad games. Lets not be so eager to jump in the fire even if you'll inevitably take the plunge.

Hard to tell them off when we're still buying into it.  Of course i'm not buying into it but for every one of us who says we're not putting up with this anymore there are 5 others who say "its here to stay might as well enjoy it"

The hacking has me concerned because people who have Blizzard Authenticator on their account is getting hacked too. The only way that is possible is either A LOT of people are lying(doubtful) or Blizzard's entire system is compromised. Blizzard might not necessarily be lying about the secret breach because they don't even know the full details on it yet...

Or they actually are lying. Probably 1 or 2 people REALLY got hacked and then 5000 times that much claim the same even though it's not true.

That's how it always goes.

The game definitely already has a major problem with Chinese farmers. I get them in my public games often. They're usually not a big problem though, so I don't care.

Loot is separated for everyone, there is no ninja looting, so I dont see why it is a problem if some guy wants to farm it.

It's only a problem when they're a moron on the higher difficulties like Hell. In that case, I just kick them from my room lol.

I'm a Barb, so I can't afford for my buddies to be lazy. I die 10x as much as everyone else anyway and I'm the most gear dependent class. I usually just join friends to avoid this problem but in public games you will run into some dumb players on Hell. I haven't reached Inferno yet.

And a update on the servers, they seem to be doing a much better job stabilizing them now. You'll still get a lag spike at peak hours but other than that, so far so good for me. Their forums look like a lot still have problems. Hopefully they at least fixed that nasty error 3006 bug on their servers that completely locks you out...

what people seem to overlook is that, policy for these kinds of things depends on us. Whoever at Activision or EA can make some bogus policy where every game has to have Multiplayer and 30dollars worth of dlc, but if we ignore the multiplayer or the dlc, that branch will whittle out and die. Its about what you want, not what you can put up with just so you can enjoy something that cost you 60bucks to play IN THE FIRST PLACE.

And yet, lots of people are buying games and enjoying them despite the continuous lamenting of the death of the industry and complaining about the mistakes made by developers, publishers and service providers. And the cycle continues when the next blockbuster is released.

Do you have anything nice to say about this hobby you seem to hate so much yet keep indulging in, Gatt9?

So what you're saying is, its ok to let the gaming industry walk all over the gamers as long as what they churn out makes a profit?

Isn't that a bit machiavellian? You know, the costumer might not "always be right" but theres this thing called Costumer service where we should at least expect not to be treated like crap...But I understand some people love playing the role of a doormat.

I'm not saying it's ok I am saying it will happen.

Though I dont really see Blizzard's customer service treating anyone like crap.

I'm fine waiting a bit longer until Blizzard get's its act together. I avoided the great Mass3 flop thanks to this same principle and I will avoid the klausterfokken that is happening NOW with D3 by doing the same.

And that is fine.

OP...let your voice be heard over on Metacritic. I feel bad for you man, not fun. The sad thing is Blizzard and Activision don't care...they have your money. Also worth noting: do you know a major portion of the gaming media considers you an "entitled whiner?"

Keep staying on Blizzards butt and demand you be able to play the game you contractually purchased.

Ah Metacritic, full of reviews by butt hurt fans who base a review on server problems at launch, those sort of reviews should be seen for what they are, a complete waste of time.

More a waste of time than the game you cant even log into?

I'm really hoping Diablo III's server issues will make Blizzard and other companies second-guess this "always-online" garbage - that idea needs to be tossed into a dust bin and never spoken of by anyone ever again, seriously.

It would be an Over-Rage for me if I couldn't play the game that I've been waiting for it for years.

Haha I know.

I havent even finished normal yet because I am a rather slow player, and started 3 classes simultaneously instead of focusing on one, but I know from other games how f*cking annoying it is to be matched with worse players than you are.

Sadly, they cant really do anything about it unless "being bad at games" is turned into a ban reason.

On another note (kinda off-topic, sorry): is it really so bad as Barbarian? I have one on Hardcore but if you die so often it might be better to play another class on hardcore and Barbarian only on Softcore......

That wont happen as long as major warez sites inform their "customers" that D3 cracks will probably not exist anytime soon but games like ME (all 3) are cracked at release day, or even before as was the case.

One may hate D3's DRM, but one thing can not be denied: It is by far the best any game has ever had so far.

...are you joking? Please tell me you're joking.

No, honestly, you must be receiving kickbacks from Blizzard for posting this tripe - or at least I hope so, because the alternatives are considerably less flattering.

Dark Souls' DRM was 50 times better.

Oh wait. Nevermind. That game doesn't have DRM for singleplayer, let alone its series innovative multiplayer, which only requires basic online connection.

Plus its darker (and IMO better) than little Diablo III could ever dream of being. And it doesn't have awesome-button clicking. Click the mouse...something awesome happens!

Diablo III is the cute, adorable, 'scare-wy' dungeon crawler of this generation.

That may or may not be, I can tell more when it is finally released for PC, not before.

But anyways, D3 is fun, even though it's not scary.

Do you honestly think I'm stupid enough to link you to a crack of any game, nevermind Diablo III?

Why don't you just run a Google search on it if you're so intent? I see results already - some of them aren't even red-flagged by WOT and look legit.

I don't make a habit of searching for and downloading cracks for games, my friend - and even if I did, I wouldn't tell you about it much less send you one.

I'm not even sure how we got onto the subject of a crack of Diablo III in the first place - my concern is the very concept of always-online DRM. Whether it "works" or not is of no concern to me - you shouldn't have to jump through hoops like that just to play a game that you paid good money for.

That is a problem with all DRM, not only with that of Diablo3, in fact I have had less trouble with it than with most.

And why we talk about whether or not it works? Because that is what decides if it has a chance of staying or will not happen again. If it works, companies have no reason not to use it.

Lastly, I never suggested you "make a habit of downloading cracks". However, as far as I know there is none for D3, which means it works. You said I was wrong about that and who knows - maybe I am after all, but if so I'd like to know.

No need to get hostile over it.
