Easy, because it's not your Shepard, its biowares. Have you not noticed the lack of control over him in the third game? He's pretty much canon now since players get to control about 40% of what he says or does. forced friendships are a part of that.

I think you should have seen both of your romances if you had two (Liara & Tali for me) & then the other squadmate you used most/talked to most (Garrus here) after seeing Anderson & Joker.

Or perhaps just a big group shot of all the squad mates & friends that you've meet on your journey.

It was very random but Shepard couldn't climb back up for a second jump so she died confused and cheated. Thanks BioWare.  How about you go make that jump instead?
