It will never change the fact that their sole focus on Tech abilities literally are what defines them as an engineer.

Leave the geth alone as sentinels.
Energy drain and defense matrix are awesome choices. Those alone would provide nice survivability. The drone would be a nice balance since it's short ranged. Human only has biotics (I really don't count tech armor as tech..it's the sentinels default. But if I HAD to, krogan only have tech skills as well).
Hold on. You don't think Tech Armour is Tech, or that the Krogans biotic grenades are Biotic? If you read any descriptions of the Sentinel they are Tech and Biotic hybrids.
The whole geth sentinel not having biotics 'problem' could be solved if you just give it those biotic grenades (prefer lift, because cluster isn't as useful in terms of setting off your own explosions).
But personally I think a sentinel without a biotic power seems valid enough. In my mind, a sentinel in MP is about survivability more than anything. The geth sentinel in OP fits this. So it's ok for me.
I can understand people not happy with a sentinel without biotic powers, since the SP and characters in MP have both tech and biotics. But SP and MP are too different, especially as in SP you have the uber-soldier in Shepard who learns all sorts of powers. And in MP, well, arguably, the human sentinel, without some castable tech powers, is just as 'wrong' as a geth sentinel without some castable biotic power (and indeed a lot of people just treat HS as a powered down AA).
Just my two cents. =)

A sentinel without biotics is like a thunderstorm without lightning. The latter is just rain. The former is just an engineer. It's that simple, there's no happy or not happy. It simply is or it isn't...and a character with no biotics just can't be a sentinel by definition.
Oh, they have biotic grenades? Then they most assuredly can be a sentinel, just like the Krogan.

A krogan infiltrator would be hilarious. Picture him walking around cloaked near some enemies...Wesus wrote...
But a krogan anti-tank sniper rifle? Krogans tend to go in close and bash everything in with shotguns and melee =). I mean the turians are the most advanced army in the galaxy (this cyclus) and they only got a semi-auto peashooter. And you mention turian infiltrator and not krogan infiltrator which makes the sniper more logical to be based of the turians.
*STOMP STOMP STOMP*
Centurion: "Did you hear that?"
Nemesis: "Hear what?"

Hence why races should only have three classes at max. If we get four then the Krogan should be an adept which is pushing it slightly but still kinda fits.

Sentinel= Tech+Biotic. That has ALWAYS been it's definition.
Krogan Sentinel's Grenade is a Grenade that he charges with his biotics.
Human sentinel still has Tech Armor.

Giving something a pre-charged grenade doesnt make it a Biotic.

Base
Soldier- Combat
Adept- Biotic
Engineer-Tech
Hybrids
Sentinel- Tech+Biotic

Garrus wants a word with you
Actually, Garrus is referred to as a combat engineer in the Codex.

Fitting all characters into a class does mean Garrus is an Infiltrator, Vega and Ashley are Soldiers, EDI and Tali are Engineers, Kaidans a Sentinel, and Javik and Liara are Adepts.
The names given to Squad Member classes are just designed to add variety.

Well, my idea about sentinel being at its heart a tank is just a personal definition, as I've never really defined classes around the powers. In my head I think less about what the classes have and instead focus on what role the classes fill. So infil is sniper, adept is wizard, sentinel is tank, etc. I thought more people might be thinking along the same lines, but obviously I'm wrong, I'm probably the only one who does this, and I'm willing to accept it.
However, I stand by my first point (and the point quoted there) that a biotic grenade instead of a defense drone would be enough to change the proposed geth sentinel into a class with both biotic and tech powers. It'd be essentially the krogan sentinel with geth-specific abilities.
Krogan sentinel has tech armor, incinerate, and lift grenade. A geth sentinel with defense matrix, energy drain, and lift grenade will and should also be classed as a sentinel, under any definition of the class. So yes, I think a pre-charged grenade is enough to call it a biotic power, and fit the tech+biotic definition of the sentinel.
TL;DR --> even as it is proposed, I think the geth sentinel is fine, and can be called as such. But if you must give it biotics, biotic nades are sufficient to have it fit the description.

You're definetely not the only person who defines Sentinels as tanks, and you're right to an extent, but technically the games lore does not define them as so. Also Descy_ explained that use of biotic grenades would require some form of biotic ability, which does make using grenades an issue, although Bioware could easily add some nonsense about Geth manipulating Eezo cores or something like that to explain Geth using biotics.

I agree. That said, if the prototype needs biotics, I'd like to see it have a tank of eezo on its body.
