honestly I didn't know what to expect with ME3's ending. after seeing ME2's ending I felt like a champion, like I accomplished something. I felt AWESOME. I had an idea of how ME3's ending should have been, I believe the word DRAGONFORCE would summarize it, certainly didn't expect what we got...
Just beat MGS4

i bought a PS3 for the sole reason i wanted to play MGS4, uncharted(2), and infamous.
MGS4 was good. i remember i did skip alot of the cuts scenes though. i dont remember thinking i really wanted to play the game again. i just felt like i completed it and that was the end. i didnt need any more MGS. ill prolly try it out again in a month or two since no other good games are getting released this year. ...assains creed 3, ghost recon might be cool, is halo 4 this year? i think bioshock got pushed back. hopefully they dont crapshoot their ending.
infamous was alot better for me. it gave me the assassins creed roof running with electrical super powers. i enjoyed that game from start to finish(although arkham city is the best roof running ill ever experience). uncharted 2 was damn awesome. in my top 5 games played for sure. i havent even finished uncharted 3 yet, i havent really gotten into it. it seems like more of the same, but less interesting. uncharted really needs to feature some RPG elements like weapon customization and maybe some interesting abilities or combat features.
What about Infamous 2? Do not deny yourself!
Infamous 2 had 2 great bittersweet endings! The evil ending had me feeling like crap. I just sat there looking at the TV not wanting to do what I had to do...

ME3, even though it lacked a lot of great things from ME1 was incredible until the very end. I hope they do something good with it.

MGS4 was alright, but it REALLY bugged me that the MGS theme music used in all three previous games was wholly and completely absent from the final game. For that alone it gets severely marked down (although the ridiculously long cutscenes also tend to be a pain after a while).
What about the final confrontation with Liquid? That had every main theme throughout the series.

Yet it wasn't overdone. MGS? Every other enemy was a friggin power ranger by the time you reached the first checkpoint. It got annoyingly cliche.JBPBRC wrote...

I agree wholeheartedly on the intent of the thread though. MGS4 was a perfect example of wrapping everything up, and tying loose ends. Even characters from Metal Gear classic were referenced!

Still hyperbole. It wasn't as overdone as you think IMO.
Ever hear the phrase tongue-in-cheek?
Saying the whole over-the-top action is overdone is like saying The Good The Bad and The Ugly's gunplay is overdone.

And that one line of dialogue split between the two (I'm sure you know what I'm referring to)... I will never, ever forget it.
As good as Infamous was, Infamous 2 improved on just about everything. Including Cole's voice. As much as I love the Arkham games, Infamous 2 is still probably my favorite Superhero type game.

ANYWAYS.
MGS ending was great. Silly cutscenes and contrived stories where the villian's actually a quadruple spy helping the protagonist are not.

I like MGS series but some things in MGS4 just went over the top in sillyness, and its more of an some half realistic anime movie than a game anyway. You watch it more than you play.
And the wizard did it of MGS = NANOMACHINES!!

It's explained multiple times. The FOXDIE death was for closure. To Snake's feelings on BB, and to the feud between BB and Zero. A way for the old soldiers to completely die off to make way for a free future.Armass81 wrote...

Thats still not a proper way to end a series. You cant just resurrect an old nemesis thats been long dead in the last minute to tell you every little secret then have him just die off in a 12 minute heart attack. Its ridiculous, and the game already has mooing, bleeding robots, a cyber bishounen ninja, a cola drinking monkey whos wearing underpants, a quadruble agent that is maybe possessed by an arm of another person, a nanomachine superpowered vampire and supermodels in mechasuits. Poof goes my brain, but then again, thuis game is made in Japan. Something like this should be expected... Its not teh first thing coming from there that doesnt make any sense.

If you're familiar with the MG universe, you'd be able to suspend disbelief for that. It's not exactly the first time someone thought to be dead returned from the dead.Armass81 wrote...
