The MGS series in my humble opinion, is one gaming's finest masterpieces.....i mean sure, the cutscenes may outweigh the gameplay, and the story may be a bit hard to comprehend at first, but it's like experiencing an epic movie series with a great plot unfold before your very eyes. Almost everything makes sense within the story, and you can check that up with the database download on PSN. It may take time, but once you put the peices together, the story is just absolutely incedible on so many levels, that i have a hard time even fathoming how Kojima came up with such a deep and intricate storyline for his games. While the Mass Effect series has been awesome, MGS will always be the series for me.

MGS4 cheesy nonsensical fanservice ending good ? really ?
now I know why this people hate mass effect 3 ending so much, they have no taste.

Mass effect story is sublime if you compare it to metal gear anime-ish "story"

Oh, and Deus Ex roflstomps MGS in every aspect.

lol MSG4 is a movie, not a game.

Besides, the Mass effect plot (apart from the ending)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>  MGS plot

cant even compare the two even with the ME3 ending.

I was too young for Metal Gear, but Metal Gear Solid 3 was my first game in the series, so i had an extreme attachment to Big Boss's character, and could never really get into Solid Snake. His final scene in MGS4 reduced me to tears, as did The Joy's in MGS3.

RIP The Joy and Big Boss

1: Cheesy? What in the ending was at all cheesy? There were no stereotypes, it was extremely original compared to most games. Even if you dislike the ending I don't see what you can honestly call cheesy about it.
2: Considering it makes perfect sense (and please prove otherwise if you can,) it cannot be called nonsensical.
3: Fanservice, so long as it does not compromise the integrity of the game, is a GOOD thing. Fanservice is just that, giving the fans what they WANT. It can be bad, like Pyramid Head popping up in Silent Hill 5 despite him only appearing specifically to James in SH2 for a very specific reason. But if doesn't double back and contradict any of the story or established universe, what's wrong with fan service? Hell, I'd love to have seen some fan service in ME3's ending.

I don't quite understand the derision on the "conspiracy" style plot. I simply don't understand why its a bad thing. If it makes for a good story (which it did imo), then alls good.

I'm  not quite sure you understand just what fanservice actually is in this context. I agree with everything else, but the fanservice definately was a bit.....eh.

Then again, twas made in Japan, hard not to expect it.

The MG series is very Japanesed up. Over emphasis on little things when voice acting....over dramatic.

Then they put a vampire in MGS2.....WTF? I don't care how you rationalize it and tell me what he really was. Vampire was the premise of that guy.

It's been stupid for a long time.

Eh, ending mate. Ending. Annnd, ehm, lighthearted comedic relief isn't exactly fanservice. >_>

Not really about Mass Effect 3.

End of line.
