So for my 2nd playthrough I'm thinking of rolling a Dalish DW rogue on nightmare with just the dog. On my 1st playthrough, I didn't have a rogue in my party so I'm a bit clueless on their skills and such. Everything I know is by messing around with low level rogue stuff and by reading the forums.

This is what i'm going for:

1. DW daggers with focus on the dext stat (I want have high def)
2. I'm going to grab Evasion, so Lethality will come with it
3. Key skills I'll be picking up: Momentum, Evasion, Coupe de Grace, Master Stealth
4. Not too sure on what specialization yet. Probably Duelist/ Assassin or Bard

Obviously, I'll be putting points into Cunning, but if I just want Cunning for its Coercion, lockpicking, and trap skills... how much should I up it for it to be useful?

Any other tips would be helpful. Thanks!

My lvl 20 stats were

Dex - 45+

Wisdom - 25

Cunning - 35

IMO, putting any more in either wisdom or cunning is a waste of time.

Also, only put about 14 in str. you can make 20 strengths by using rings and stuff so you can equip the best light armor. then you can take the trinkets off.

in your case, you may have to get at least 20 constitution just so you will stay alive.

You will need duelist to start off with. While assassin will also be nice, you may have to take ranger just to increase your party size.

Also, coup de grace is rather useless as you are not gonna have any mage disabler.

do the Shale and dragon scale side quests to get the best equipment in the game.

All in all, best of luck. I do not have it in me to play a solo game or a 2 character party, but if you can, more power to you.

Thanks for the advice Rishavs especially with equiping the str trinkets to put on light armor and then removing them. I never thought of that.

As for the specializations... I'll nab duelist first and decide on my 2nd specialization later. Ranger is a great idea though. It'll be me, a dog, and another animal - leader of the beasts. lol

And the reasoning behind coupe de grace is that i'll be sticking some paralyzing runes in my daggers and thought that it might be quite effective skill to pair with. Not sure how it'll work but I guess I'll see soon enough.

The highest level traps/locks in the game have a difficulty of 60. Every point of cunning after the first 10 count towards this difficulty, and every rank of lockpicking or traps counts as 10 points. So if you have 30 cunning and all four ranks of lockpicking, you can pick everything in the game. 40 cunning and you only need 3 ranks, 50 and you only need 2, etc.

In my experience, 35 cunning was needed to pick pocket some red colored fools.
