The huge hands are disturbing me.  I guess this is to wield the oversized weapons, but it looks like Fereldans are part gorilla.

Rather big feet and hands, yes. The bodies have exaggerated proportions in general. Could be worse. We've definitely seen worse. Oblivion comes to mind.

We better start getting used to it. They have giant hands and feet in SWTOR too.

As a rule of thumb, real hands are as big as the respective person's face, real feet as big as their head.

However in DAO hands are as big as heads and feet even bigger!

It's nothing new. I've learned to stomach/ignore it.

But while playing with the CC yesterday it occured to me that the gloves and gauntlets look about right, so the solution behind the mystery proportions is that bare hands are basically flesh-colored gloves - probably for memory reasons. The same thus goes for feet (everything as big as heavy steel armor boots).

Considering the hand sizes, that's one hell of a potential facepalm there.

I like the hands. I think the detail and slender fingers on them are great.

Michelangelo was famous of overemphasizing the hands in his paintings and sculptures. The gateways to the soul are not the eyes, but the hands.

DA:O certainly isn't the first to do this. I'll agree that they look a bit off in the CC, but I think they'll look quite a bit different when the models are actually animated during play.

Actually, the real rule of thumb for the feet is that the foott is as long as your forearm, go ahead and try it, should fit right in, from the interior of the elbow up to the end of the wrist, just before the palm.

You people are freaks. I put my forearm up to my foot, and it goes from my elbow to a good inch below my wrist. The bottom of my palm lined up with the edge of my chin leaves the tips of my fingers just above the eyebrow. If my hands and feet were as big as you people say I'd walk around looking like a disney character fused with a clown.

I guess I look like a disney character for the feet... thinking of becoming a clown now that you mention I have big feet :P

It's about the same as you concerning my hand in the face though

If you place your foot on top of the forearm of a bent arm, it should go to the wrist. Don't measure all the way from the outside of the elbow, but from the inside of the elbow (inside of the arm).

No, my foot doesn't reach my wrist. That's from inside the elbow, not the outside.
