One of the great things about RPGs is the ability to customise your character and I have a few suggestions for things I'd like to see in DA3 that would help with that.
1: Appearance tab. This has long been a common feature in MMOs and it has always surprised me that it's never made the jump to single player RPGs. Being able to have the appearance of the gear you want without sacrificing stats would be a great addition to the Dragon Age universe.
2: Armour dyes. This is another thing that's common in MMOs that I think needs to make the jump to single player RPGs. Letting us dye different parts of our armour the colour we want would be awesome.
3: Spell colours. I think it would be really cool if we cool choose the colour of different spells. For example, a mage could choose for their fire ball to be coloured purple instead of orange or for their lighting to be green instead of blue. For warriors and rogues there could also be a few colour choices for some of their more magic like attacks.
4: All of the above, but for our companions. I think BioWare's plan to have armour morph depending on which companion it's on so companions retain a unique look is cool. I do however also think that having the ability to turn this feature off and also having an appearance tab so you can give your companion whatever look you want is also needed. The armour dyes and spell colours is also something companions should have access to.
5: Companion kits. Like in The Old Republic I think DA3 should include companion kits. Like I said above, I get that BioWare wants companions to have their own identity and looks so these kits wouldn't change anything too major, like face structure. Mainly they'd be things like changes to hair style and hair colour or adding tattoos and scars to the character.
6: Customisable weapons and armour. The idea here is that some special weapons and armour sets get added to the game that we can customise the looks of. Like a sword where you can choose between different hilts and blades or a chest piece where you can choose whether or not it has sleeves, whether it has shoulder pads and if so what they look like and maybe even what material it's made from (metal, leather or cloth).
7: A lot more options at the character creation screen. I guess this is sort of a given that people would want to see more hair styles and sliders for things like nose length or eye height. There's two things in specific I'd like to ask for though that I feel is lacking from a lot of character creaters, full body tattoos and scars. In a lot of character creators you can stick scars or tattoos on your characters face but I'd also like to do the same thing to my characters body in DA3. Options like having a scar down your characters chest or one of their arms covered in an intricate tattoo would be awesome. Also the ability to pick multiple scars and tattoos. In a lot of the character creators I've seen you'll get an option like this:
Scar 1: Scar running across characters eye
Scar 2: Scar running across characters cheek
Scar 3: Burn down the side of characters face
etc
You're only ever allowed to pick one of them. What I'd like for DA3 is the ability to pick several. To have a scar on my characters cheek and eye etc. And no, an option of Scar 4: Scar on characters eye and cheek, isn't good enough because often the combination of scars or tattoos you want isn't one of the preset options to choose from.
So yeah, those are just a few of my suggestions for things in DA3 to help customisation. If anyone else has something relating to customisation they'd like to see in DA3 feel free to post it.
Greater customisation options in DA3, a few suggestions
