Her name is Pinkie Pie. Also, I see absolutely nothing wrong with that substitution, although Rainbow Dash would be the more logical choice. The Spamming Troll wrote...
ME1 doesnt need a remake.
its perfect as is, and im under the impression bioware would rip out its guts and fill it with global cooldowns, ammo, and remove the mako in favor of that one pink my little pony,
Re-release Mass Effect 1 with ME3 gameplay improvements = Best game in the trilogy

Combat. In ME1, all guns in each class feel exactly the same, the only differences are the stats. Shepard takes cover a bit whenever the hell he wants and not when you want him to, some drones kill you with one hit and the Benezia boss fight is the most broken thing I've seen in an okay game. In general, fighting biotics sucks. It's a while since I played ME1, but if I remember correctly, the shortcuts for your powers didn't exist in that game, right?Terror_K wrote...
And what magical, mystical "gameplay improvements" would these be?
Beyond that, the buildings in the side quests are copypasted, which feels cheap and the controls of the Mako definitely need redoing.

You know, the ones that are visible for people not wearing nostalgia goggles so tightly that they're causing physical damage.
I prefered the combat in ME1. The far more customisable weapons and the skill points into imrpoving weapons skills, class skills the spectre skills, all felt more 'mine'

Was curious how other fans of the series would receive this or perhaps it's been thought of before and I'm late to the party.

I DO wander if they will release a box set with everything involving Mass Effect.
-Including Comics & Books
-Improved Mass Effect Games with Updates and Others
And perhaps other things. Would make sense.
It's possible. The only hangup I would see though is that ME1 wasn't designed for the PS3 so they would be left out of any "Ultimate" collection.

I know, its sad. They perhaps get something that helps in leverage.
I also would add:
-All DLC Available
To that list. I can see costs going around $120 dollas or more though

Oh, are we going to pretend that ME1's broken, illconcieved Gameplay is a billion times better then 3's Terror?
Pretty sure there's a Disingenuous Assertion joke in here somewhere.
Hey, I've admitted they nailed the combat in ME3. Level design was good too.
Subpar shooter gameplay and linear levels?
Mass Effect 3's combat is only good when compared to ME/ME2's. Otherwise, it's decent, at best.
What other games are you comparing ME3's combat to? The most common comparison I've seen is with Gears of War and ME3's combat is on par with GoW which for me was very, very good. Granted I have not played every cover based shooter out there so perhaps I am missing something but I would rate ME3's combat as one of the best. ME2's I might call "subpar" but it was still very solid.

There are more than enough FPSes out there, ME3's shooter mechanics are "OK" at best. ME was supposed to be, and was, different and I'd like it to remain that way. I don't need another shooter ... I need more intelligent, quality RPGs.
Here's a thought, how about they don't worry about ME and re-release ME3 with proper RPG elements instead? You know: an actual inventory system; a working quest tracking and journal system; exploration; far less auto-dialogue; more decisions (I can probably count on 1 hand the number of times I had more than 3 choices in the decision dialogue wheel); a true side-quest system (ie. that doesn't depend on eavesdropping on every conversation on the Citadel to activate, one that doesn't amount to auto-"go fetch", one with actual varied quests, etc.); actual armor for your squad mates and not just pretty paper cutouts to dress them up in ... I can keep going if someone would like to write it down and get it done.

I edited that .. that should have said ME3's shooter mechanics. The original Mass Effect was not a shooter.

If I wanted endless horde mode, I'd go to an electronics store on a Black Friday.
