Seriously though, it didn't do anything for me. Not much in ME3 did.

Cuz the way I see the control ending as is: You are merging your conscious with the starchild. You make the reapers go away and everything seems fine. But since Shepard is now merged with the starchild and is in constant contact with the reapers it just seems like a matter of time to me before Shepard comes around to the Starchild's and the Reaper's way of thinking and sends the reapers back to do their reaping again. Thus the cycle continues. 

For me Destroy is the ending I dislike the least so its the only currently semi-acceptable ending

This. TIM cranked his stupid evil score to criticality when he presumed that he, with his magical experimental reaper tech implants, could go from controlling a couple of human minds at once, to presiding over a hive minds of thousands(?) of eons-old starships that are themselves mind hives of billions of individuals each. I don't doubt it's just half-baked writing, but Shepard goes from literally preaching TIM to death to "He was right after all!" in all of five minutes.

Passersby should be stopping to inquire about the audible ringing coming from your head because of the sheer number of bullsh*t alarms that should set off.
