No.
Do I believe that it's a get out of jail free card Bioware should grab with both hands, thank us all for the second chance, and use to create an ending that isn't awful unavoidable bleakmiserable that destroys everything we care about in the name of shoddy art and speculations?
You bet my sweet British behind I do.

As far as I know, the ExtCut DLC is currently in development and they have stressed numerous times that they won't change the ending. I'm not sure what this is for.

That sounds like a win/win for Bioware.

I don't think they intend(ed) for their fans to forget all this.

I do think it's weird though, why ask about it now?

Gauging the damage if it isn't included.
That would be my guess.

Gauging the damage is, at least, correct from your statement.

And a good reason for them to go with IT

I would assume that is why he was there before.
Those are the most........disgruntled players.
I don't envy him.

I don't really think closure only can do a good extended cut.

It can. Believe me. Most Hollywood films are incredibly shallow, you just don't notice because you're happy.
People are not happy with the game and have readily torn it apart because of it.

Go deeper then just what the question asks. If Bioware is asking whether or not IDT is believable I would have to go with the reasoning that their is a reason for it.Humakt83 wrote...

What is the point of asking people if they believe in IDT? Really .........
To see how many people have figured IT out? To see whether people believe Bioware can do something like IT?

I'm actually surprised it's not 80/20 or more in favor of IT being real there.
If 2/3 of HoldTheLine.com is all that feels IT is real, I wonder about the percentages elsewhere. HTL seems to be a site dedicated to those that don't like the current ending. I would have guessed that HTL being what it is would have skewed the results far greater. Maybe IT is actually less popular than I thought.

Imagine if they asked all these inclusive questions like a month ago. Half the bad will would have evaporated.
Can't tell what they are up to though? They told us what the extended cut will be which depressed most people. Now they are asking all these questions like they might be planning more than just what they told us about the extended cut(Shep dies relays explode death, death ,death)

Read some of the responses to the thread.
A lot of the "No" votes say they wish IT was true. They just don't believe it was intended.

To be fair, this amount of backlash from a video game ending is unprecedented.Siansonea II wrote...
IT is a copout, and a cheat, and an asspull, if that's the direction they decide to go. I'd rather have a complete retcon than IT. After all, at least retcons are an established precedent.
Aside: I'm surprised that there's a HTL website. Serious business, I see.
