my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 is comp with it and it only has froyo 2.2
Samsung Galaxy 10.1, on the other hand, is not compatible, which really doesn't make sense. Shouldn't this game be the best when played on tablet? Normal phone screen is a bit too small for it.

(I can play The Sims on it, so ...)
And to learn that it's not compatible with so many android devices is pretty baffling. Scratching my head forever at this.

That's exactly what happened on my HTC One S. But then I figured, maybe it was a download error, so I uninstalled it, and then the Play Store decided my phone was incompatible and wouldn't let me redownload it. So, whatever you do, don't uninstall it! Maybe just delete the files it downloaded from EA and redownload?GMStevo wrote...
So apparently it doesn't run on the brand freaking new HTC EVO 4G LTE. I was able to download it just fine and install it, but once I try to run it the game crashes after the headphone screen. Emailing customer support results in a completely unhelpful auto-response where no answers can be found. Any idea how to get our money back or find out what devices are compatible with this game? I know it's been asked numerous times but I could find no answers.
A similar thing happened to me with GTA3. It got so far into the intro credits, and died. Deleted and redownloaded the big game files, it'd get all the way through the intro credits and part way into the intro bank robbery cutscene, then it died. Deleted and redownloaded again, and it worked perfectly. Might just be a similar issue?

I ran nslookup for several servers, and none of them can find it, but the eamobile.com site tries to send me there for all the various support links on the site.

Great, except it is not compatible with tablets running ICS. If you do port the datapad app to Android please allow it to be installed on tablets. If you are not going to do that, please make a port to WP. Pretty please?
Actually, about that...I was able to get it to work on my ASUS Transformer (TF101) which is running on ICS 4.0.3. Since it isn't listed as a compatible device on Google Play, I had to purchase it using my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket) but from my admittedly limited testing (I just played through the first few battles), it is working on a tablet running ICS and actually looks pretty decent on a 10" tablet.
Personally, I think EA should update the list of compatible devices for it in Google Play as I think they're short-changing themselves when it comes to the pool of potential customers for it. Also, in the event it's ever updated, it'd make it easier for me to update both my phone and tablet.
