So apparantly the people over at hold the line sent material Chris Priestly saying that they wont except the extended cut and will desert bioware if they dont do new endings instead. He was not sure if this was from the whole organization or just from one person but i really have to ask what dont these people get? They have already said that they will not change the endings only clarify them and I really think this was the best move for everyone because pro-enders are happy, developers dont lose their "artistic integrity" and retakers get clarification. Does whoever sent this honestly think that these threats are going to change what bioware is already knee deep in the process of? I mean they complained, made polls, made a website, donated to charity and bioware finally did something about it and they still want to keep on with this. I have to ask are there any retakers who are ashamed at this behavior? Because at this point it has gone from understandable anger over a subpar ending to people who think that they can control every facet of a developer if they whine and threaten enough. If you would like to see the tweet it is a two part tweet near the top of Chris Priestly's twitter page.

Most likely a few banded people trying to pass themselves off as representing HTL.

People are irrational when they get pissed.

Of course they are going to do stupid things.

Yes, they think threats will force Bioware to change the endings completly. They wouldn't send it otherwise.

And they think this will help how?

Seriously, you cannot threaten to walk out on Bioware. As much as they don't want to admit it, HTL is not a lot of people. How big are they, 3 or 4 thousand last I heard, but I could be wrong. They are a drop in the ocean compared to the people who would be perfectly happy with explanation of the choices and proper closure with your squad.

They paint everyone who is unhappy with the ending in a very bad light. Bravo.

Some people are just too extreme. It's quite sad some people aren't reasonable enough. Oh, we'll. They won't be missed. Disrespect is unreasonable and unnecessary

That was just one or a few people. Official statements get made on the main site. There is no unilateral decision made on HTL without at least the rest of the forum having its say.

Sad to say it but threatening to walk out on a big company like Bioware is like saying 'You didn't dump me! I'm dumping you!' to a girl who is already shagging your best friend.

Let's make this clear, HTL is a group of thousands of members like BSN. Of course, not everyone will support BioWare and there are trolls in each community. Seems like we just have a case of extremists. I've got friends in HTL and it's a decent community.

Anyway, I support the ExtCut as I continue to give constructive feedback to BioWare! :D

like i stated before they need psychological help and are doing more damage instead of good

i can tell already alot ( not all) have basicly stated they wont accept the ec and imo thats fine but threatning isnt the way to get what they want

Since when is it "too extreme" to say you won't continue to support a company (that already disappointed you several times over), if the the solution which is supposed to solve some of the problems that caused said disappointment disappoints also?

And from all the information we have so far it is a safe assumption to say the EC will indeed disappoint.

I think threatening to leave the company is not as extreme as people make it out to be. If they are not happy they can leave we shouldn't judge them.

I sincerely hope you never go into business with that attitude.

I couldn't read it, don't have twitter. Why don't they wait to see the E.C.? Saying they're not changing the endings is just semantics. They should just wait and see what happens.

I've got a little more faith and hope then some people.  IT gives me that.

I respect Bioware and I am thankful they are making the EC. However, I don't give a crap about their artistic integrity and I am tired of the phrase.

I guess that's considered threatening nowadays.

These threats are not going to do anything but make them more stubborn and defensive of their crappy ending. No need for threats, if you don't like it don't buy their games. They'll get the message eventually

I don't see how threatening to not buy future Bioware products constitutes calls of "whiners". This is a BUSINESS relationship between us(the paying customer) and Bioware(the firm providing a commodity).

If a firm is not producing satisfactory products, the consumer has every right to demand changes to make the commodity satisfactory.

The firm, being in control of the commodity, has every right to either implement the changes or choose to keep the commodity as is.

The consumer, in response, has every right to adjust their spending practices accordingly.

Now, if there are personal attacks made on members of said firm, that crosses the line. But despite the high level of communication between Bioware and a group of consumers on this forum, neither Bioware nor their employees are "chums". We do not go over to each others' houses to drink beer and watch the Oilers get their butts kicked; we buy their products, and are entitled to the things listed above.
