Leandra. I felt worse when Jansen died off-screen at the Bone Pit than when I found Frankenmom. She needed more admirable dialogue to help cement the player's fondness for her.

I find his passion admirable and compelling, the only problem is you don't see enough of it.

Anders without a shadow of a doubt. So very little is known about him.
With Anders also being in Awakening, I felt like Anders was the one we knew most about. I can't come up with big questions about his past that remain a mystery.

I'd like to know more about Fenris too, but also about Isabela and Flemeth.
The Dark Horse comic series "The Silent Grove" gave a bit more of Isabela's backstory, if you're interested - mostly about her husband. Some of it directly contradicted what she says about herself in DA2, though, so... *shrug*

Oh, and Flemeth. Always Flemeth.

I think its always cheap when they dont tell us in game certain things so we have to get books/comics. It also annoyed me that we only found out about Isabela's past if we romanced her and i never did.
One thing i did notice though is that its really obvious that she was a favouite character for the devs because they gave her a whole lot of attention.

All of the companions that I had in the game. They had a basic character with some information but as a player I could not find out anything about them for myself other than in their question beliefs but that was way to little. As I understand it something like in DAO will be presented in DA3 ('campfire talk'). We'll wait and see then.........
I hope so.
Its a shame the things they have told us so far about DA3 have basically been things to reasure us.

Maybe they'll release some more information at E3, it's in about 2 weeks I think?

Aside from that, I'd like to know how they develop *after* these events.
Other than them, Shale, Cole, Sandal, Flemeth, Aveline's life as a soldier, Loghain's time in the Wardens, Sigrun, Tallis, Maraas. I would have liked to know more about Orsino too.

I'd also like to know more about Shartan and his contribution to Andraste's success. Assuming that the book you give to Fenris is genuine there is an interesting story there.
I'd also like to know where the Wardens were going in such a hurry during the Qunari takeover and actually see a proper Qunari settlement, since the codex says you can't fully understand them until you do.
And I'd really like to find out more about Sandal.

I actually disagree with this. We know a lot about what he stands for, but besides his facination with cats we know very little about him. He is very secretive about his background beyond "Templars are bad Aaaargh!".

I have to acree with the two C's. While it's true that we learned a lot about him in Awakening, a lot of that went out the window with the Big Change and he became a whole new person.cowoline wrote...

Plus, a lot of people don't even realize that we never learn his real name - EVER. He's called Anders because the Chantry brought him to the Ferelden Circle all the way from the Anderfels. Yet he never talks about his family, his home, or how he came into his mage powers. That still strikes me as cold on the writers' part.
I would have loved to meet Malcolm during the events of the Prologue. It felt awkward to hear my Hawke speak sadly of this father that I never actually met.
