The most beautiful thing I came across in Dragon Age. In a codex entry, no less. I want to thank the writers for writing something so moving. You can find the entry in the dungeons of Redcliffe Castle, just before you enter the higher level.  I have a feeling it is cut-content, as it is under the Quest-Related entries, yet no quests are related to it.

I really wanted to find Rainesfere. I was hoping it would show up somewhere, or be a random encounter, or something. I was really disappointed when it wasn't. Kind of hope it winds up in an expansion or DLC or, if it turns up in neither of those, some fan-made mod eventually.

I got a feeling that the Bannorn was meant to be a pretty big part of the game in the fight against Loghain. If you ask Bodahn if he has heard any rumors he'll talk quite a bit about how Loghain is fighting against in the Bannorn.

So my guess is we might see a lot of that in future DLC. Since they probably have a lot of close to done, but didn't have the time to properly test it.



Like how Shale was originally scrapped from the game because he was to big to fit through doors in the game

Thanks for posting that, Lucy. I picked up that scroll in the castle dungeons, but sadly by that stage I'd reached 'codex overload' and didn't go back to read it. I'm glad to have read it now, and will make a point in my current playthrough to read all the codex entries I skipped over in the past.

Yeah, the numbers made going through the codex very difficult. I really hope there is some DLC with it in there somewhere??

Hopefully it's made relevant at some point. I even tried talking to Teagan about it (he's the Bann of Rainesfere, if I'm remembering correctly) but no dice.

One does have to wonder about the current condition of Rainesfere in the game, though, considering that Bann Teagan is at Redcliffe for the entire game, while Loghain is conquering areas left and right.



Hopefully if there is a Rainesfere DLC, it'll also have a good deal of involvement from Teagan.

You know, I have MEANT to post about that codex entry, and kept forgetting to do so.
I figure it's cut content too, or maybe possibly foreshadow for some future DLC. Rainesfere is mentioned in dialogue (probably someone naming the Bann of the area, or something) but other than that, nothing. It isn't even on the cute little cloth map that came with my game.

EDIT: Whoops, TEAGAN is the Bann of Rainesfere?  That would be why I keep remembering the name come up in dialgue, then!

I would like to see some DLC with the Bannorn included, too. Rainesfere is such a lovely name. I can imagine it would be very small.

I love that little note, for some reason I keep picturing Rainesfere as this pittoresque area with farmlands and flowers surrounding a lovely little castle or some sort of great house etc etc etc. Would love more information on Rainesfere, it's close to Redcliffe isn't it?

The Codex says the following : Teagan holds the bannorn of Rainesfere, a tiny province of Redcliffe's squeezed between the Frostback Mountains and Lake Calenhad.



But where exactly is the squeezing taking place? No idea, couldn't find anything else sadly :/

It's not on the map, but there is some squeezing that could take place. The gap between Frostback Mts and Redcliffe is quite large, so.

Out of all the codex entries I think the one the OP posted is my favorite. Really wished Rainesfere popped up during the game.

The Orlesian occupation sounded brutal, I can't wait until the novels come in the mail.
